Hello my window regulartor works but I broke the white plastic guide that go up and down to regulate and block the window. There's a way I can just find only it on or I have to replace all the window regulator block? I asked cause I removed everything but I need just that piece and I don't know where to find it 🤔

Very helpful. I just replaced the regulator myself which I never would have tried to do without your video. It went pretty smoothly, but I had a hard time getting the clip into the opening at the bottom of the glass. Nothing was working, then I decided to roll up the window and see if the pressure would push the clip into the opening, which it did. I thought that Fiat might have modified the clip, but finally it did go in. The worst part of the whole replacement was removing the sound insulation. I tried to be as careful as possible and only caused a few small rips near the edge. Thank you for a great video!

@@ziggyzags13 I bought a new regulator on eBay that was offered by a Fiat dealer. It was under 100.00. They are 130.00 on the Mopar website. Make sure you get the right one for the left or right door.

@@ziggyzags13 The plug that goes to the regulator motor was difficult for me to get out. After you pull the yellow bit out, you have to push down on the top of the plug as close as you can get your finger to the plug housing, then pull it out. And take your time with the insulation. It rips really easily if you hurry. That part will take longer than the entire replacement.

Thank you for your help! We replaced the steel rope.. It was the same length like the original, but it's does fit/like too short! We put just one spring, not two in die slider, and it was perfect!

Dealing with this issue now. There is a TSB for inspection/replacement of door weatherstrip and door glass. Operation broke two window regulators I put in and had to dig deeper to figure out what was going on. Lo and behold... 'inspect the suspect door glass plastic bracket/guide for excessive material at the plastic/sonic weld.'

Thanks for the video, I have replaced the regulator but my window moves forward when rolling up. It appears the rear part of the window comes out of the tract. Is there a way you have a video regarding how to remove the rear tract? Or how to replace that rear tract or put the window into that tract? Thanks.

Your guiding clip is broken. I know exactly what you're talking about. If you look carefully, at the top corner of your window, there is a small hole. That's where this clip is located and must've fallen somewhere in your door. You can find the clip on ebay. I have the same problem right now, except that I replaced the regulator with a new one and don't see how to take the window off the regulator without breaking it, since that would be another $100.

My window moves side to side - I can see a small hole in the upper left hand side. Could you guys please do a video showing the side regulators or what attaches to that hole. Thanks.

Are you sure your main regulator isn't just loose? If it's loose, it will allow the glass to move around, especially when the door is slammed.

I only have one on it that I'm aware of. I replaced it myself and it all feels tight. Did you find out what the hole is for?

That small hole in the top corner of the window is the guiding clip. It makes sure the glass goes straight up without moving forward. The regulator pushes up or down. The clip makes sure it doesn't slant forward. It's a horrible design, in my opinion, on behalf of fiat. This makes it difficult to fix if it breaks, because you would have to break the regulator clip in order to get the window off the regulator. In order words, if your guiding clip breaks, you'll have to replace both the glass and the regulator, with a total of around $300 plus labor. Smh

World Mechanics' videos are one of the top "go to" resources for being able to do my own (2013 Fiat 500, Sport) Self-Service & Repairs. Bottom Line Up Front: The simplest repair is the replacement of the entire Window Regulator assembly. CAUTION: On the edge of the window is another small plastic piece that holds the window in the door frame. Basically a Track guide for the window to hold it in position as it moves up/down. (*Door Window Glass Run Channel Track Repair Guide Clip Left Right.) During the replacement of the Window Regulator - this small plastic clip is very easily broken & not easily replaced. So even if you replace the the entire Window Regulator Assembly - if the Window Channel Track guide, clip is broken....the window will not function as normal! 1. A quick Google search sadly shows that the right-hand window appears to fail more often than the driver/ left-side left..? 2. The Window Regulator is one assembly made up of screw-motor, metal guide/frame, twisted steel wire and (of course) several plastic parts. (Why? Because it's cheap and they will fail! Built in obsolescence. $$!) The twisted wire loops around the 2-plastic pullies for moving the window up / down. Both wires connect to a central plastic pully-wheel run by the motor. 3. In my car, the plastic Regulator Clip that holds the the window at the bottom and is moved up / down the metal frame-track by the Regulator Motor was broken. Which prevented normal window function since it allowed the Twisted Wire Cable to come unraveled and of course, get all wrapped around the regulator assembly. 4. FYI: I wanted to try to fix the broken plastic part. I was successful to repair the plastic piece and subsequently re-wrap the twisted wire cable. The window operated as normal for one cycle - but because my "Window Glass Run Channel Guide Clip was also broken - the strain on the window being out of alignment - re-broke the lower plastic retention clip. So now, parts are on order. (ie: Window Regulator Assembly and Door Window Glass Run Channel Track Repair Guide Clip Left Right. 5. Simple search reveals that you can just purchase the window regulator retention clip (alone) without having to replace the entire window regulator itself. However, after having pulled, repaired & put back in the window regulator assembly...I recommend the default of disassembling your door, verifying the failure, and then replacing the Window Regulator Assembly. 5. Replacing the entire window regulator assembly, as shown in the video, is thankfully easy and doesn't require allot of tools. But does require patience. Take your time to carefully cut the glue between the door insulation sheet/membrane & the door; you'll be thankful that you took your time! *Verify your respective model & year before ordering. *Determine whether you want to use an aftermarket brand or original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) parts, and order accordingly. [My hopefully unnecessary - Disclaimer: I am in no way advocating for any of the sellers &/or sights &/or products listed in / on any of the Google searches re-posted in my comments. *As with the intent of this (& other like videos....) my intent is solely to offer further help fellow Fiat 500 owners so that they may move thru the process of Self-Service & Repair a bit quicker. Guys, Thanks for the video. I did install a new window regulator (OEM) but my driver's side window pivots on that contact point where the regulator meets the window. I believe this is the reason the original one broke. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks in advance. #Fiat500 #2012

2013 clip is made differently unless auto parts gave me the wrong one. It doesn't snap in on the side of hole like that.
