To get rid of a lot of bloat software and apps, just choose 'World', instead of an actual country. This you can change later. It is designed to install lots of stuff depending on where it thinks you live. But if you choose 'World' it installs fewer because it doesn't know what country you're in.

Just to be clear, any LTSC version won't activate if replacing a typically installed OEM version of Home or Pro edition. LTSC versions would typically be activated by some KMS server within an enterprise organisation although there seems to be offers of probably dodgy activations on-line.

KMS activation can be done completely offline, but that is not necessary. LTSB 2015 to LTSC 2019 supports digital licensing, and IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 and 2024 support it as well.

You will have to wait for the update if you have incompatabile drivers or do a fresh install which I will not do as I will lose everything. The update will be here eventually. There maybe a way to upgrade without a fresh install but I don't know how to do it so I can wait. I am absolutely looking forward to it with the direct storage.

It runs fine. It doesn't have the strict requirements that the other editions do, so you don't need to bypass anything. It can be installed on pretty much any system that supports SSE4.

Windows 11 24h2 in general require popcnt and sse4.2 cpu instructions. So the intel core 2 duo p9700 i have in my latitide e6400 won't be supported anymore. Windows 10 iot ltsc 21h2 is the best thing for that laptop

That only applies to Evaluation copies, if you find a full ISO and never activate it, although you won't have customisation enabled it will be perfectly functional and won't shut down every hour. (converting an Evaluation install to a full unactivated install won't change that either, it will still shut down every hour, so make sure to find a full iso)

LTSC build usually lag behind stable builds, so--- and Microsoft doesn't typically backport fixes from newer versions to older ones. So, if there's an exploit in the let's say 22H2 LTSC that gets fixed in 23H2, it's unlikely that the fix will be backported to 22H2 LTSC. Users on 22H2 LTSC would need to upgrade to a newer version to get the fix. Only in the extreme cases like with Wannacry for XP do they backport.

You don't need to upgrade LTSC to a newer version to get security updates or exploit patches. " Users on 22H2 LTSC" there is no 22H2 LTSC! they don't get released every year, there are: Windows 10 LTSC, Version 1507, 1607, 1809, 21H2 and Win11 24H2, so 1-2-3 & 3 years between versions. Your Wannacry example for XP exploit patch was because it was severe and the OS was long past end of support.

Some will say they are equally vulnerable, but you have to look at the system as a whole and a system with less on it and as such has less running has a smaller attack surface than stock, so trimming off what is not needed makes it more secure because it removes a a doorway into the system, - there are guides out there for hardening but most apply to boxes on a domain, but to make a system truly secure is going to make it not very easy to use...

What's not said in this video is Win11 IoT LTSC doesn't have the restrictive system requirements that are keeping people stuck on Win10, like TPM & Secure boot are Optional, UEFI or BIOS are optional, 2GB RAM, many older CPU are also supported eg: can go earlier than Intel 8th Gen. It also has no feature updates and 10 years support. I wont discuss how simple it is to also activate.

You can debloated windows on the installation of a clean install but set English (World), lots of videos on the internet, and the Achilles heel on the LTSC is that you windows has probably hundreds of features in a year and LTSC only receive once or two times in a year, so, many features that could probably easy your workload you have to wait a lot to get.

A modern operating system comes with a lot more drivers baked in "out of the box", so that you don't need to go chasing specific drivers (you can if you want to, but the install and the OS will still usually work). I remember just 10 or 15 years ago, you would need to get all the drivers specific to that hardware ready to go before even starting the install, or even "slipstream" drivers into an OS image, or use a manufacturer's own recovery disk/image. Maybe the size of the drivers themselves has gotten bigger (because storage space is cheaper, ram is cheaper, and people are lazier), but that is one reason operating systems are bigger. Linux is actually the worst in this regard, they just have one massive "monolith" block of drivers so it will work on anything - seems very wasteful to me but hey it makes Linux simpler, although nowadays there's barely any difference.

Fore that forced spyware case, the people must teach Windows a very hard lesson and humanity encourage people to do so, so when AMD and Intel will come out with processors hat can run Windows Copilot and Recall spyware, the Copilot and Recall spyware won't be installed automatically but will be able to download from Windows website for those who do not mind a spyware in there computer.

@@LONEWOLF6523-gc3dv That's not how drive encryption works. Encryption means it password-protects all of your stuff, and stores the password in the motherboard, so it automatically unlocks when you start your computer. Encryption has nothing to do with the internet.

I'm trying out Ubuntu studio Linux distribution. Just realizing hie much windows suck. Ubuntu KDE Desktop looks amazing and everything is just so smooth. Going back to the user interface on my win 11 machines feels like going back to win 7..Linux is the future no doubt about it..

Windows updates works perfectly fine on LTSC. It just doesn't receive feature updates.

its not the same os, enterprise ltsc does not care about tpm, secure boot or whatever, u dont even need an UEFI

There are still telemetry yes, but you can easily disables them through Group Policy, Winaero Tweaker and O&O ShutUp10++.

So I’ve had it with windows. I’ve been using MacBooks for 14 years now and I’ve never looked back, loosing a Win laptop. However I do enjoy a good game or a few, so I built a Win 10 pro tower. While I did this a couple of years ago it stills works great except the bloatware. I did have an older i7-9700 tower and a friend sold me a RTX 3050. So I went on a hunt found a 16gb kit of ballistic CL16 that a friend wanted a upgrade to 32GB and installed it and I had an extra 1Tb NVMe M.2 WD Black drive. So I thought id install Linux mint and see how it works! Steam is working hard in making this work and it shows. Does pretty good with CS/GO seeing I’m only using 8 lanes and not the full 16. But this was more of a test when anything. So when Microsoft wants to start charging is when I’ll make my move away from Windows on my AMD setup.

Unless there some specific you need the Microsoft key is affordable … often seen windows key - 20/30 $ on KZbin channels (building computers )asking for subscription but I have never used them. Did a long time ago and it worked.

A cheap pc / laptop is affordable a Mac isnt have both but my Mac is old and low spec. For games I’d use ps3 which I don’t have any more … for games downloading drivers etc for pc drove me nuts … but please tell that no longer happens windows uploading etc updates … etc

Just checked to see if Recall was enabled on my system here, I use an LTSC setup. After running the command and a restart the service is re-enabled. Downloaded Shutup10 which has a toggle to disable COPILOT and RECALL, did that, service re-enabled itself. Seems like MS has patched it maybe in the last 24 hours? And yes I ran everything with elevated priv.
