Btw, I would like to report a problem after updating. Whenever I didn't log in windows after booting for few minutes, my PC lagged very hard and windows defender told me that some device security aren't active and I need to reboot. I play valorant and therefore their vanguard anti cheat runs on my machine. I reinstalled it and have not faced the issue for 1 day.

I updated to somthing called the repair version. It seemed to stick on 7%. I left it overnight. Next morning it had installed. Took about 20 Mins to apply the install after rebooting. Then I gout the cumulative patch. Have had no issues at all :)c

@@leebennett7014 - always back up before a major change... .. butsaying that.... the way windows installs by default can make it difficult for most people to back up only the OS, because by default programs and data are dumped on the same partition.

It's like Microshaft has a shed full of pissed up mentally deranged chickens programming software/updates lately. Every update lately has been a fuckdate. Throne and liberty has been anti cheat kicking me since the update. Rolled back to a previous restore point. CPU runs cooler, no bsod, no sluggish shutdowns. Just accept that Microsoft keeps botching things up. When it's expected, they'll have "met expectations" and you'll feel much calmer about it. That's a life hack I learned over 20 years ago. Trust me, it helps reduce stress over their frequent blunders.

24H2 failed to install for me. It got half way, failed and reverted itself. I'm not that big of a fan of Windows 11 anyways. I was already a Linux/Windows dual boot user. For me 24H2 was the last straw. I deleted all my Windows partitions and just moved everything over to Linux. I may regret that choice later. But right now i'm happy with the change.

When I thought I had updates stopped, they managed to sneak in that bloody update anyway. The list of problems is endless. Memory is used like 50% on startup on my laptop. When I close the lid and restart it, there's 50/50 chance of getting a blue screen. I can't get the login screen without pressing Crtl-Alt-Del when it's been on pause..... How crazy is that. My games? They start up with 5fps speed 😢 not playable at all. I did get some of the extra downloads mentioned again yes. Btw, i do get the need for the in video promotion, but what's the point of recommending a site for buying windows 11 keys if it's so terrible as you make us aware of ????? Mind boggling for sure.

I understand not wanting the AI thing, but that's a CPU/NPU thing. As for Co-Pilot just turn it off. Windows 10 has co-pilot so... I have not experienced any ads in Windows 11 so far ( Been running since release). If your PC just has a normal CPU (Core i3, i5, i7, i9, AMD Ryzen 3,5,7,9 and no NPU) then your not going to have Recall even installed.

Microsoft is so weird and inconsistent, I upgraded 2 machines (one unsupported hardware, one normal) using the extracted ISO and running the product server command. Neither of the two machines had problems deleting the files (using the old Disk Cleanup) and after running the sfc command the first time it fixed the problems and the second time it confirmed that everything was fine.

I had some update issues on Win10 about a month or two ago. Went to the AI and had to clean some updates cache via command. Then I could install security updates. Other time, on Win11, maybe 4 months ago, I looked at the partitions in the disk manager, suddenly finding out it had a bitlocker on. Went to settings... it offered me to turn the bitlocker on. Coded into the command to find out the bitlocker key. None found. Coded to check encryption. Used space was indeed encrypted. How? I have no idea what shady practices this 💩-ty system does, but I had to code to decrypt it and then check it up, to have it confirmed it was then fully decrypted. WTF is this system doing?

the sfc /scannow is nothing to worry about. that command hasn't been working since Windows 10 - you get the same error when you run it on a Windows 10 PC. It's a false positive, and nothing to worry about.

There's another channel on yt with over 100k subscribers that states that this temp multi gb file is for a reason and it is because of checkpoint updates and that it is not a bug. so now I am really confused because I consider your channel very knowledgeable.

That is correct 24H2 PC's will always have a file (checkpoint update file) which will make downloading updates quicker.

This may be a bit advanced for some people, but those temporary files that Windows says can't be removed: If you know where they are on the drive and what they are called, why can't you boot the system from a Linux Live disc and use it to delete said files?

Please don't those files are meant to be there as they are part of the new way windows 11 will receive future updates. deleting them will only cause them to be downloaded again during the next update (wasting your bandwidth).

Upgrades are always problematic in ways that most people aren't aware of, there are hidden gubbins that sometimes have to be slackened off for compatibility reasons, to make things work with the upgraded OS, which can include the security templates, as such I would always go with a clean install where possible, but saying that am in no hurry to go to 24h2, as its been reported recall has been embedded into explorer and breaks the tabs if removed, I have yet to test this out for myself as am one of those old school folks that doesnt need co pilot or recall to increase the attack surface of my boxes...

You can, but you have to run the gpedit (Group Policy Editor) and tweak 2 settings. Windows 11 24H2 has a much more secure network than Windows 10 and 11 23H2. Google 'Windows 11 24H2 can't connect to my NAS' and then select the 'Accessing a third-party NAS with SMB' link. scroll down to where the GPEDIT solution is explained. Just 2 options you have to check, and change. It worked for me.

I installed 24H2 fresh from a flash drive and had fortnite crash a few times immediately when entering a game. I reinstalled windows again because I thought maybe I messed something up but fortnite crashed the same way again. I kept trying to play fortnite and eventually it just stopped crashing. Kind of frustrating when you install a clean version of Windows and the first program you open crashes

NO KIDDING. It messed up everything in my system. No online games would play and would lock up. Menus wouldn't work. I rolled back and shut down updates. I'll wait for a few months until the bugs are gone.

I did a clean Windows 11 24H2 Dutch on my newest Aliexpress mini PC this week. The installation process looks a bit different. Creating a local account with the usual tricks still works. But I ran into one problem. Part of my setting up Windows is running a REG file with settings for the Windows Explorer etc. You can’t do that anymore. You receive something like a “failed to import registry keys” error. Starting regedit as administrator and importing the REG files gives the same error. I hope this is a bug and will get fixed too.

It's not installed on my 3 PC's. Checked with DSIM command and all 100% good. It didn't even get installed because there is no option to turn it ON/OFF under Settings/Privacy-Security. I don't have a CPU with a NPU and never will.

I installed Windows Update Blocker because I will NOT be held hostage out of my computer waiting for updates. Some updates got installed anyway; I thought WUB was perfect but maybe not. A System Restore got rid of the updates, and they're still gone. They want to play hardball?? I've been doing this since 1984. Good luck fighting me, Microsoft. Not so much a problem with updates themselves, but to force it and you can't use your computer till it's done?? Ghost Spectre for me with updates frozen till 2030🥳After last win update, I got blue screen off and on....I don't have games installed or play anything. Updates are important. If your machine does not work, reinstall. Typically underpowered machines encounter update issues as they are so slow OS thinks updste is stuck and restarts it again and again. Also free antivirus software, reg cleaners, boosters and other software people should never use might cause issues.

24h2 has ruined my lenovo laptop. From random bsods to unresponsive programs. Updates stuck in loops. And driver incompatibilites. Never ever upgrade to the first releaae of any major uodate until the bugs have been ironed out. Currently wiping machine and starting iver with fresh install of 23h2. Il be hiding 24h2 until they get a grip.

Its disgraceful, but then the EULA gives Microsoft carte-blanche. 24H2 is certainly not fit for purpose. I tried to clean install from the ISO on bare metal and got a black screen freeze. I generally run Linux but thought I'd take a look. I shall not bother again.

I clean installed 24H2 on 2 PC and in both cases it insisted on a password for a local account. It also lost the original key on each PC and would not accept the same key if I re-entered it. Happy days ...

I have Intel iris Xe graphics on HP laptop. I updated to 24H2 4 days ago with a fresh clean install via format and installed with USB boot flash disk. After 4 days. Windows automatically updated a intell display driver that was in my optional update section. I know this driver causes issues so I leave it in optional. But after 4 days it updated by itself. Now my graphics driver reflects error in device manager. My additional displays does not work and there is small RGB glitches on the very top of laptop display I format and rolled back to 23H2 but during the install process Windows run an update similar to the steps during the 24H2 fresh install. So I sit with the same issue even though I'm now on 23H2. I do not know what to do I tried drivers from HP and Intel website but not working Do I also have to wait door a patch update even though I'm now on 23H2 with the same issue.

My mouse pointer disapeared couple days after fresh install. I saw weird usb device in device manager, tried uninstalling itand mouse and after reboot it would be the same and mouse pointer still not present. Nothing from tutorials worked. Got it fixed by reconnecting my mouse to different usb port. At least I don't have that 8,63 gb waisted and my sfc works :)

You cannot delete that 8 GB because Windows needs it for Windows Update. This is not a bug. Starting with 24H2, Microsoft is releasing a new type of update that uses that files, so that updates can be smaller in size

I turned off TPM in my BIOS and did a registry hack so my PC would never get Windows 11. I've started learning Linux Mint...not a bad OS. I'll probably use Windows 7 from time to time. I have lots of backups just in case. Cheers all.

if possible, I'd like to hear about the bitlocker activated by default and how to not encrypt the drives. I have a hardware (PCIE RAID card) in RAID 1 (for business) and that scares me as to whether it will destroy my data or not. thx for the insight.

@@andrewquinn5946 lol. I've literally being using Windows 11 since the first week of its release. Sure, there have been bugs fixed along the way like any OS but in my case none of them impacted me. I guess I got lucky then again, I always have Dell desktops with Intel inside, so the chances of problems are diminished. I'm very happy with it.

For the time being, but then software like browsers come out with new features that aren't supported on older OSs. You can really see it if you try running XP.

All my games run at max settings on Win10 with my 3080 RTX 10GB, so i moved new clean installed to 24h2, and some of my games crashes with error not enough vram available. after lowering some of the settings those games worked. whereas in WIN10, everything is max without any issues. I will not touch win11 until they sort out all those stupid bugs, otherwise win10 still winner.

i still have no problem with Win 11 and can't see why so many slate it, people just need to take the normal advice and not rush into updates, if people just wait a while the bugs get ironed out and it runs all peachy. i can't see the day when there won't be bugs, with an almost infinite amount of hardware and software configurations they can't possibly account for everything. Plus they got rid of their testing/bug finding team years ago.

At least Linux is free and have a better community and remeber I said "remain on Win10, my issue is with version 11 being so crappy unstable every month a new BOSD.

@@HipocratesR The issues for the most part are being blown completely out of proportion. Understandably KZbinrs sensationalize things to get clicks and views. I've been happily using Windows 11 since the first week of its release and it's been ROCK SOLID for me. That said I usually have Dell Desktops with Intel inside so I'm sure that helps.

I did give it a try again and it duplicates the features so you have 2 versions...the clean up tool does not work as should nor anything related to it least my side but seems like everyone else is in the same boat... The reason for it i think its cuz of the small updates as you need the main version then the update comes you have both new and old version still and as the new update depends on the old version you get 2 duplicate features(You cant see this ones they are hidden)...this is just my opinion and how i see it thats why it wont remove it and if you force remove it...well this cause more issues 24h2 i think it should stay more in development rather than rushing it out as its not even ready or was least ready for use but yeah they will fix it in the few updates later on for sure but then suffer with issues is not worth using and day to day users have no idea why theird PC just crash or why they get errors caused by the 24h2

Just thought I'd mention, Recall was supposed to be disabled, but now they've integrated it directly into Windows File Explorer (As reported by Chris Titus), not only is it running by default again, but at present there doesn't seem to be any way to disable or remove it, he is however working on that issue & will likely pair it with his current toolset if possible.

I have Windows 11 24H2 installed on 4 PC's now. 2 that are running Xeon Processors, 1 that has a AMD Ryzen 5 2600, and 1 that has a Core i7 2630QM. None of them have Recall installed or running. I checked with the DISM command and it's clean Recall isn't running -- furthermore it wasn't even installed as there is no NPU in those CPUs. It's FAKE information, only if your computer has a CPU/NPU will you have Recall installed - and if you do, you can simply turn it OPN/OFF under Settings/Privacy & Security.

Brian, if you're going to put out a video like this, please... please... PLEASE be more specific about the driver related issues. In this case, the 24H2 update has an issue with the Intel Smart Sound Technology driver, specifically versions 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152 per the Microsoft website. When you were describing it starting at 6:54, you made it sound like ANY and ALL Intel drivers could or are causing this problem. That's a great way to spread FUD. While I do try to caution people against rushing to get a major new release like 24H2 as you were trying to, spreading *caution* should be the goal. Once you start spreading FUD, I think you start ultimately doing computer users at large a disservice overall.

i advice people to check their intel iGPU driver after 24H2 update, microsoft managed to get the old driver overwriting the newer ones going again. Forcing yet again an old wddm 2.7 driver on their wddm 3.2 OS. These jokers need more than a spanking.
