I recall a time in my university days when our PhD computer professor would lecture us on how co-existing Operating Systems was possible, but it would require some hacking to make it work right. Fast forward to today, I remember this exact topic and the struggles stemming from it.
With the invention of virtualization and hypervisors, some advancements and innovations have been made possible where two or more Operating Systems can co-exist, but those are virtualized which can impact performance, software/hardware compatibility issues.
As for me, I always try my best to stick to real hardware when installing Operating Systems, especially when it comes to USB/Thunderbolt external devices interfacing with specialty software.

Make sure your computer is capable of running both Windows 11 and Kali Linux. You need to have at least two empty or unpartitioned hard drive partitions to install Kali Linux.
