Windows 11: Fix Touchpad Missing In Windows 11 Settings

Worked for me... but, took a lot to still figure out. I was using a Lenovo touchpad that wasn't working... and in device manager, the Touchpad wasn't showing up. But, there was an error with "Keyboard Device". I used step 2 on the "keyboard device"... "Update Driver".... "Browse my computer for drivers"... "list of drivers"... and tried installing each until one worked. And eventually, the touchpad worked. So, keep in mind you may not see "touchpad" under "mice" or "HID device" in the device manager. It COULD be incorporated into the KEYBOARD and it's a "keyboard device".

literally thank you so much, had my laptop for 2 years out of nowhere today the touchpad stopped working!!! The troubleshoot wasn’t working and it was saying I didn’t need to update anything until I manually updated my BIOS THANK YOUUUU!!! you’re the best!!

Finally... I found the info I needed to fix the missing Touchpad! I would disable the touchpad in device manager, but it would become enabled again after the laptop was shutdown. This has been driving me nuts! Thank you so much!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My mouse wasn’t working and I had to keep on restarting my laptop for it to work until suddenly one day it stopped working. I went to go get it fixed somewhere and they said they couldn’t. So I decided to try again by myself and turns out I needed to get the BIOS driver. Now it finally works!!

Tried all your recommendations but nothing worked for Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen 8 running latest version of Windows 11. Problem started after Windows 11 update and do not have Restore Point. Reset laptop completely and reloaded Windows 11 and problem still there. Touchpad works fine in BIOS and is turned on (even tried turning it on and off and still not working). Went to Lenovo website and updated BIOS/UEFI, updated drivers etc still not working. Updated drivers from the Microsoft site (and advised that I have the latest drivers)...still not working. No keyboard key to turn the touchpad on and off. No touchpad on and off facility in Windows/Settings/Touchpad. Any further recommendations?????

@@oberdancena4521long story short: I didn’t fix that issue, I thought my mousepad was not functioning but the issue was I had keyboard cover which had different mousepad key printed for turning it on/off and it was basically just turned off.

I have a keyboard with built-in touch pad, now it works fine, but I can't turn off tap-to-click because Windows doesn't know it's using a touchpad. There wasn't a bios option for that. I also don't have a company website to go to for drivers.

LENOVO TOUCHPAD NOT WORKING After finally resolving this error, im posting the solution under every fix video. Your computer doesnt recognize touchpad? None of those tutorials will work. 1 Go to device manager; 2 search for keyboard; 3 if u see a warning on one of the devices u have my same problem; 4 click on that device, should be named "lenovo keyboard" or similar; 5 click properties and update drivers, click "search in the computer" and then "choose froma list of avaiable drivers in the computer"; 6 there should be a couple of options, the highlighted one (the active one) is the WRONG ONE, so click the other; 7 enjoy, your touchpad is now fully working again.
