@@xXx_Oshino_xXx theres not really a difference with nvidia or amd on linux. amd has open source drivers, while nvidia doesnt. the amount of hate nvidia gets from the linux community is because of that. if you dont want to use closed source software, then use the unofficial open source drivers (that are somewhat worse)

It feels like the entire OS is running on WebView. Everything is so painfully slow. Why?? File Explorer? It takes ages to open, and once it does, you still have to wait for the top overlay to load, because for some reason it's a whole separate thing. What a mess. And don’t even get me started on the Task Manager, the taskbar, or the context menu - they’re all clunky, bloated and frustrating to use. And ~150 background processes running by default?! What the hell? Windows 8.1 had about 20 to 30 at most. Jesus I fucking hate Windows 11. 🙄

It's a big pain when you have a bunch of context menu shortcuts (i.e. extract with winrar, open with vscode, etc.) The show desktop issue only happens if you quickly flick to it, which could be done with W10 without issue. The main issue is the inconsistency 🥲

"You can turn easily off the Start menu recommendations and suggestions in settings." then it shows recent apps. explorer patcher is used to counter that but then again Microsoft labels it as malware sometimes (its not). its not about being fanboy of windows or hater of linux. things should be simple enough that a dumb person who arent into tech can easily get stuff without having to ask their friends for how to guide. i totally get that they needed to mordenise their design but that doesn't mean they needed to make extra menu. you can skin / make ports for old menus. make apis to get items from old into new. Microsoft just wants money not user comfort and that's the point. they are adding things that looks flashy and normal user wouldn't look at it coz they had been using windows for decade and also who got the time, linux isn't the answer but an option. for windows users I would say atlas os or similar stuff is important (don't remove defender tho)

Holy sh*t Crimson Tech speaks 🗣🗣🗣🔊🔊🔊 IMO the overall trend is that Microsoft is just very clumsy at modernizing their OSes, and right now doing form over function when it didn't _have_ to be this way. I think if they thought about it a little longer, you can make it look more modern but still be as useable. Instead, they shoved the UI changes out the window fast and loose, causing things like two right click menus and two control panels and interfaces. For example, the mouse settings to disable mouse accel looks pretty much like it did in Windows 2000, and the menu to change pointer appearance is the same as Windows 95. The UI of these settings are incredibly incohesive UIs compared to the rest of W11's modern settings UI that just makes it all look so clumsily put together. People can say what they will about macOS, but even when it retains UI elements for multiple releases or years, it _still_ ends up looking relatively cohesive to the rest of the OS for the most part. I can't say that for the Control Panel and the separate Settings app on W11 which looks like sh*t when you put both side-by-side and realize they're part of the exact same OS and version, though that's just my 2c.

My Windows 11 Pro has a battery icon right where it should be. And it comes default.

Some laptop brands have their own preinstalled program that shows the percentage in a custom icon, but Windows itself doesn't have that unfortunately.

Hear me out.. you remember how everyone for a millennium loved windows 7? Get modern hardware on a windows 7 and get some fanmade compatibility addons and just have at it. So SO much better.

Yo you when you showed your battery level you had 78% percent left and 2h 47m estimated left. Is your battery life not good anymore on g14? Or is it on performance mode?
@crimsontechyt2 ай бұрын
The stats that Windows puts there vary WILDLY, and aren't really reliable. It was running in turbo mode with the GPU on, so one second it could say 2h47, and the next it could say 5 hours if im not doing anything

i made the terrible mistake and have used win 11 since launch day. never again. had/has fragmented features, still missing features found in prior versions, and best of all it can't even put laptops to sleep right (-_-;) But hey they added the show desktop button and the clock on secondary displays only 1.5yrs after launch so ig they tried really hard this time ╮(^▽^)╭
