Windows 8 - How to Clear the Printer Queue

Learn how to delete stuck print jobs on Windows 8
Clearing printer queue through the Control Panel:
Right-click the bottom-left corner of the screen and select "Run."
Type "Control Printers" in the text field and click "OK." This opens the Devices and Printers section in the Control Panel.
Right-click the your default printer or the one you use to print documents and select "See What's Printing."
Right-click and select "Cancel All Documents."
Clearing the Printer Queue from the Command Prompt:
Right-click the bottom-left corner of the screen and select "Command Prompt (Admin)."
Type "Net Stop Spooler."
Type the following: del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q
Type "Net Start Spooler" and hit "Enter."

Thank you very much. I had a stuck print job in Windows 8.1 and after that my printer was dead. Your first method helped to remove all later print jobs. Your second method removed the stuck print job. Then I could print again without trouble.

Truly education is the key. I was struggling in the morning because the boss wake up!! Just to print one document but the printer not responding!!! I did it nine times 🤭 but not responding. It reads 9 pages are waiting. I was suppressed to see the document of last week is printed 😊😊 i was agry i even want to hit the printer 🤭🤭🤭 so thanks alot bro. Finally - an answer to the print queue problem I've been having over and over again!! There wasn't even an answer on the HP support page. Why doesn't HP do something about this problem? Searches on the internet indicate many others have experienced this problem: print queue indicating a file is "deleting" but won't clear and thus you are unable to print any other files following the "deleting" file.

Thanks so much, the first method doesn't work for me when the document is stuffed up and saying 'deleting'. The second method worked perfectly, this is the second or third time I've had trouble with my printer queue not clearing properly.

mine would clear all but one job because my printer was in an error state....still not sure why that is and its still not printing BUT....selecting a different default printer then going into that others printer queue the job was no longer stuck there....i re selected my original printer and.....it was now clear! Came up with that idea on my own and it worked!

Shouldn't take you a minute and 30 seconds to start to show us how. Obviously we need help canceling the print job, stop giving us useless information. Also, WHY move the screen so much like at 1:47 and on? Erratic movement is so frustrating to follow. Not only do you randomly move your screen but your mouse too. Good information but terrible presentation of it. You can take this as constructive criticism for your future projects or get mad and emotional.
