@@Sub_to-five You're talking about the prgoram? It's 86Box. It's not a virtual machine environment it's emulation which is import because it doesn't work in VMware or Virtualbox the same way at all.

Every Chicago build from 58s to 90c had the cutest 9x beta build shutdown wait dialog which consisted of a white crescent moon with white little stars and a black-to-blue gradient night little square-shaped background on the left side of the black shutdown wait dialog text which was replaced by a boring open door starting as of build 99.

Next year marks 30 years since the launch of Windows 95 and the iconic taskbar and start menu, congratulations for showing us these compilations that in fact there is a game in Andorid and Steam that pays tribute to these versions of Windows, it is Call Progressbar 95 and try to fill the volume and progress bars while being careful not to eat the poisoned red rectangles.

And then after a while come January 1995, Build 311 removed the Beta Site ID/password requirement to install. I think they were looking at a replacement like a serial to continue with the installation and later product key (the latter got more enforced as the years went on especially late in 9x and into the XP days).

I'd honestly throw out out VMware (Virtualbox I have a high distaste for people using it for build videos as it's the worst program out of all of them to use if you want stuff to work properly). Virtual PC 2007 is perhaps the best program to use for old builds like these.

The startup and shut down sounds for most of these Windows 95 beta builds are always the Tada sound, don't know how they settle with the Tada sound for the shutdown sound much more earlier then the Startup sound. At one point, Doctor Watson shortcut as well as that shutdown wait dialog seemed to have completely disappear sometime later, don't know why,

My first and last contact with Windows 95: I made a 1.4 floppy disk full with files for DOS and only a few bytes free. And i visit my nephew with the disk to show the files. My nephew had a computer with W95 and i put the disk into the drive A: and then he open a window to see what files on the disk. But Windows deleted some of the DOS files and put some Windows files on it and the DOS executable was destroyed.😂 The DOS program need a write access when executed. So i had no write protection. Thats stupid, but i am not expected that W95 is a dangerous beast to eat my files.😂
