Microsoft had absolutely done perfect Aero for Windows 8 ( 4:19 ) But what do we have? We have Win8 UI, which looks like it's made in MSPaint just in 5 minutes! I still can't understand why didn't they implement Aero as an addition to RTM version. Mobile devices weren't so slow to be unable to render this. And if they were, why didn't they make a basic theme? Microsoft, as always, made a [__] out of good product and lost all the possibilities.

Back then, people would build PCs just for vista and 7 and they would draw like 200 watts just for gpu acceleration ---- probably. That reason is mostly gone now. Now that a lot of desktop computers are very efficient and consume like 10 watts at desktop, bringing it back as an option just sounds so fun.

9x Classic Theme - looked the most sophisticated/professional XP Luna - looked the friendliest Vista/7 Aero - was the most beautiful 8 - smartphone style, when Windows got it all wrong 10 - Damage control - owning their mistake by trying to Windows 7ify the disaster that was 8 11 - MacOS meets Windows 10... just plain messed up at this point

Win8 attempted to emulate smartphones and tablets - stupid because a desktop or laptop is not a puny touchsreen device, it doesn't need to work around UI problems which aren't present Win10 embedded forced updates, telemetry Win11 embedded reinforced updates, telemetry, and advertising Every version after Win7 has been increasingly anti-consumer. Because Microsoft has realized that they can milk their market monopoly.

The non-aero will appear if you lack a wddm driver to use in Windows 7 for your hardware,This mean GeForce 256,2,3,4, TNT2,Voodoo 3,4,5,and Cirrus GD-5446 will run on Windows 7 without WDDM Drivers but they will never get their drivers on Windows 8 working!

I've always liked the "look" of Windows 3.1 GUI - simple, but cool :) Win 9.x was good too, and Aero from Vista/7 was the best looking Windows GUI in my opinion. In later versions of Windows they made a step back...
