Man, I really gotta get back into caring for my nepenthes a bit more seriously! Lifes been stressful so I've been neglecting them a bit, even watering them with tap water occasionally. Not all of them are happy. Gotta get them back on their feet! Nice video as always :)

I had no clue what that waxy stuff was on my nepenthes leaves so I was cleaning it like it was a fungus. I like to mix neem and peppermint and soap with water in a spray bottle and clean each leaf with a soft cloth. I’m so happy you told me that it’s wax. But I’m dealing with thrips now. It’s a never ending battle until Spring. Thank you 🙏
@WindowsillNepenthes13 күн бұрын
Yes, leave the wax if possible. Good luck with these damn thrips.

@WindowsillNepenthes Thank you. My home stays at 70F at night at the lowest, even in winter.

Hi, Nepenthes Robcantley x Lowii would be a good windowsill cultivar?
@WindowsillNepenthes7 күн бұрын
Totally depends on your humidity and night temperature. It's possible but risky. I would pass ;)
@DJ_BRUNOX-z3t7 күн бұрын
@@WindowsillNepenthes I'm thinking of putting a thermal blanket under the pot to heat it during the day and turn it off at night so the temperature goes down.

Depending on the species, yes. But I'm not a greenhouse expert ;)

Hello Remy, I have a question, my nepenthes Gaya is producing pitchers after I repoted it in perlite and sphagnum moss a week or two ago, but there is no digestive liquid, the new pither opened but it is completly dry. I have a sensor and I monitor it every day, it has the correct temperature and humidity. Do you know what could make this happen? Thank you very much.
@ronearle243613 күн бұрын
I water it correctly and give it sufficient sunlight.
@WindowsillNepenthes13 күн бұрын
The plant get the water from its roots (and the overall humidity). I believe repotting made the roots unable to pump water from the soil, but it will get better once they regrow. You can put water in the pitchers to make them last longer, even if they won't digest anything. ;)

@@WindowsillNepenthes Thank you very much!!!! But I just looked and somehow after checking very very very welll it somehow sliped my eyes, and there was digestive liquid. Im very sorry for making you write that, but I am very tankfull and will use your tip in the future. I got my nepenthes from a nursery, and I DID NOT!! plan on caring for it very diferently than a venus flytrap, sarracenia or drosera (which I own) but like my very first carnivorous plant i decided to do some research, and found your channel, that lead me to correctly take care of my healthy little plant. So much tanks and I await your next video, happy growing!!!
