Excellent video, one thing I would add that may save someone some grief is to be careful when removing the wiper arms because there is a key in the keyway that locks the wiper arm in p[ace, when you take the arm off that key may fall out and you probably won't realize it until you go to re install the arms. Most of the time they stay in, but I had one fall out. Just be aware.

My truck had the same thing going on and the problem also ended up being the same. All is good now though and I thank you for your instructional video.

First video I watched and I'm certain that I have everything I need to know now thanks to your excellent coverage. I suspect that my "Y" fitting has failed also because when I blow air into the line I hear all the air flow out under the cowling before it gets to the spray nozzle. But I had no idea of how to remove the cowling and you have shown that it will be quite simple. Thanks so much for saving me one hundred dollars or more taking to the shop.

Thanks so much!! I watched this video 1st, then before even taking anything apart, I just ordered a kit from eBay. Took the cowlings apart and sure enough the plastic fittings were dry rotted and cracked open. Put it back together with new parts and it's like I'm spraying a garden hose on my windshield now. Fixed it like brand new for 10 bucks! Glad I did this before purchasing a new windshield washer motor. Thanks again for a great video!!! The new kit came with the better brass tipped nozzles and I can adjust them to aim the spray perfectly on my windshield.

Mannnn, Been needing something like this. Mine hasn’t worked for two years. Question though. I’ve got a small drip 1,2,3 drip leak directly where the hose connects to the reservoir. But I get ZERO fluid from the nozzles. That couldn’t be the total loss of pressure right? I tried to blow compressed air into the hose and some crusty dry flakes. some out.
@YourHomeGarage5 ай бұрын
Zero fluid out of the nozzle and a leak at the reservoir hose would equal a loss of pressure. Replace the reservoir hose to seal the line and then you can further diagnose the system if it’s still failing.

On the cowl here are 3 hooks next to the glass that need to be unhooked. They hook to a sheet metal. This video did not address those clips at all. But it is a good video and I had exactly the same problem, I bought a Y at advance auto in a kit. It was 6$
@bradh14002 ай бұрын
Exactly. I can't get the cowling off. Instructional videos should not skip steps. The hardest part of any repair is moving things out of the way to get to the broken part. And that's what almost every instructional video glosses over. The repair itself is usually simple.

What tool did you use to trim the hose to the right length you needed?

@Your Home Garage thank you. Got it done today but figured out after it needed a pump as well but rolling with some water fluid now!!!
@YourHomeGarage Жыл бұрын
Sorry that you need a new pump - but you’re getting there. At least you’re solving the issues ones step at a time.

When removing the trip plug, place the screwdriver UNDER the cowling to avoid cracking the head of the plug. After loosening everything, push DOWN on the windshield side of the cowling while lifting up on the engine side. That was an important step missed in the video.

Does this kit work for f-150 2016?

No it does not, it’s meant for 2005 to 2013. However, for ease of searching just hit the product link that I have in the description and change the search parameter to your year.

Ford stinks for making this so difficult. And probably costly if you take it in to have it done.
