We had an amazing day exploring Jezzine, a gorgeous village in the mountains of Lebanon. They are home to the largest pine forest in the Middle East. The Karam family hosted us for amazing food and wine at their Karam Winery.

The food and wine was delicious, and my favorite dish was the Musakhan - a Palestinian dish of bread soaked in olive oil with chicken and huge amounts of sumac.

I know so many people of Lebanese heritage who have never been to Lebanon including my GP, who just visited for the very first time (he is close to 50 yo). He was blown away by the beauty and the people. He has booked to go back in 2020. The country is addictive. Excellent work Mark. I’m American and was not happy with how Lebanese people can live in other country and open up business and NOT employ the indigenous people of that country. I'm syrian from my father's side and lebanese from my mother's side. This is the way my family were raised. As many arab christians my grandparents were forced to leave the Middle East by the war and came to South America, but they brought this food tradition with them. For my brothers an I this was normal everyday food, but now my parents are no longer with us I realize how lucky we were.
