I forgot those were toy boats for a second and thought “wow, you really took the drone up high!”

They look pretty realistic in the way they ride on the water until they go over waves, then they seem to bounce too much.

The video galvanizes in me the personal thinking, that plastic boats serve no purpose, lol. They aren't pretty, they do not last, they smell funny, their propulsion systems are all Rube Goldberg. And I started my career in the early 70's as Director of Advertising for Thunderbird/Formula. All of us there on the sales/marketing staff called them 'plastic boats' and we all hated them because we were raised in wooden boats. But, it paid the bills. But, there was ONE boat we all loved. Just one. The original Formula 233, designed by Don Aronow. Damn that boat handled rough water perfectly! And with twin V8's would fly. My way of saying, great video, Scott. Brought back so many memories. Just one flaw in the video...no takeoff by that float plane! :)

I spent lots of time as a skier in “plastic” boats. I understand the need for them and what they are good for. I’ve owned a number of them. That being said, I’m glad my journey has brought me here, to where wood is the material of choice for me. When I was younger, living strictly with a wooden boat wouldn’t have worked. I was selfish with my boating time and constant proper maintenance just wouldn’t have worked, plus I would’ve never won barefoot championships had I been varnishing rather than beating myself senseless on the water at around 40 mph! If we don’t embrace classic fiberglass boats, we may not keep boat shows going as, if you haven’t noticed, us wooden boat guys are aging!

@@glassgoat9601True, true. Plastic boats do have their place. Nice flat bottom ski boats. But, back up.....barefoot CHAMPIONSHIPS?!?!?! Damn, man. You have balls of steel...or none left at all lol. That's a lot of body abuse !!

Great video. Very nice music in the background. I'm impressed by the clean and clear water in the lake. Would like to know who owns "Perfect Pitch". Obviously a musician owns it. Thanks from Kentucky.

I’m not sure who owns that boat but I’ll check on it. The boat is built by the Turcotte Brothers who build all Gar Wood boats now. In my experience, some of the best hulls currently being produced . Thanks for watching!
