One of my favorite grapes! I just wish it was easier to get my hands on more Nebbiolo d'Alba... drinks so well while we wait for our Barolos and Barbarescos to mature...

I am lucky that way, in Europe it is easier to access. Nebbiolo is also amongst my favourite, number one actually! 😂😂

If you are looking for domestic Nebbiolo check out Soquel Vineyards from the Santa Cruz Mountains. They make a marvelous domestic Nebbiolo primed and ready to consume young but also age worthy.

Oh dear, I found you just today (actually tonight here in Sweden) - and already discovered a soul mate in wine preferences. A good Barolo with the classical Tajarin ai Tartufo Bianco is something one could kill for! My absolute favorites are the barolos from La Morra, which in itself is a small town which is just marvelous to visit!
@NoSediment Жыл бұрын
What a lovely comment, thank You! 🙏🏻 La Morra is the epitome of elegance and delicacy in the Barolo world. However, in blind tastings I have preferred Serralunga for the longest time. 🍷

@@NoSediment Depends on age. But hands on favorite is Champagne last night had Clos des Goisses Brut 750 and 1.5 the latter was so impressive but attention must be paid to de’gorge’ is extremely important, but I have digressed. Favorite of your tasting for me was Proyecto Garnachas 2018 but I’ve only had it from 5.0 Ltr. By the By love the T’s.

Hahahah, there are increasingly more producers making wines in a more approachable style when young. Also, Langhe Nebbiolo is great option (wine to enjoy while You are waiting for those Barolos to mature)! 😂😉

Hello Agnese. I am enjoying your episodes. I came up with a quick question related with Barolo. Do you know what 'Vürsù' of La Spinetta Barolo Campe mean?
@NoSediment Жыл бұрын
To be honest, I don’t know. Do You?
@thecolorlab7398 Жыл бұрын
I asked about it to La Spinetta and a manager replied that the word is a local dialect meaning 'extremely wanted' because they had wanted so much excellent Barolo to come out, which happened in 2000.@@NoSediment

Just had my first taste of Nebbiolo in the form of Barbaresco. It’s a serious wine alright. How long would you recommend aging Barolo and Barbaresco for?
@NoSediment2 жыл бұрын
Hi! 👋 It really depends on the vintage and producer, but 10 years are easy for them. But then again it also matters what kind of wine You prefer- if You like to see more fresh fruits -> then open it earlier; if You are looking for dried fruit notes, forest floor and other non-fruit characters, than You can age it longer. 🤷♀️
@solomonmengeu10032 жыл бұрын
Every wine geek or aficionado is going to love Barolo and Barbaresc o; the problem is the ever increasing prices. Thankfully now some of the large British and European supermarket retailers B&B quality has greatly improved. Decanter recently featured a number of Kirkland Signature wines and Barolo and Brunello were listed. Besides that I had a Roero Riserva a few years back that was pretty good. Those other appellations sound very interesting, but here in Taiwan/ Asia it's usually Barolo, Barbaresco or Nebbiolo d'Alba. Great video Agnes and happy belated New Year!
@NoSediment2 жыл бұрын
I thought the same, but when I was studying wset diploma I was surprised how many people would not appreciate the tannins of that grape. Wines from great producers would be scored as low quality. 🤷♀️ But even with that, yes, prices are increasing and it is not like with Pinot Noir, where there are many more countries experimenting with the grape. Essentially Italy is home to greatest Nebbiolo’s. ⚡️ Cheers! 🙌
