Hey Nick, I was amused to watch your video this morning. “This is what the problem book said, and this was what ELF said.” It’s almost like we planned it. 😉

Brady I just want to say, yours is one of my top 3 favorite channels and one of the first I recommend to anyone SDK or close to SDK (or better) who wants great content and to improve their game. I hope as many others do that you continue making videos in the future. Regularity be damned, I just never want to see you disappear for good.

I really liked the addition of comparing yours/teachers/leela zeros moves. Gives three good perspectives on the situation. I completely agree with your final point about how much to rely on bot moves if you can't read them out as well. They're a useful tool, but not an answer book for the absolute best move to play.

The first "subscribe" I've ever done. What an interesting, thoughtful guy. I really enjoyed your comments on Alpha Go and its social impact ... as well as all your go instruction, obviously.

Thanks, Brady! I've played Go with my dad my whole life, but only recently I've started to try better my game with some education. Your video's are some of the most pleasant, instructive and funny Go-tutorials I've seen.

Super happy to have you back Brady! Although I think your AlphaGo videos are superb (the best you put out!), I also hope that you could get back to the format of easily digestible 10-15 minute videos, it was a lovely format! But really, I'd watch anything you upload if it's Go related :)

Thanks for the video! missed you. Explanations made sense as always. Any pointers on Leela zero and Lizzie on Mac? I'm halfway installed but don't know that to fix. The Go community needs help in setting those up as shown by a recent member question sent in the newsletter. Welcome back!

Hey there Brady. I've enjoyed your channel. I'm not a Go player, but you have such a calming tone that your videos relax me. You're like the Bob Ross for Go videos. I have a question I've been curious about... So I'm a Chess player. And at the advanced levels of Chess, players will archive hundreds of games to memory, move-by-move; games that are instructional and that which can be recalled upon when considering a crucial move in the player's own game. Is it the same in Go?
@cruzcruz69665 жыл бұрын
It is the same in Go, but to less extent. If you watch Michael Redmond 9p - probably the strongest fluent English speaker - review games, he will occasionally refer to a famous historic game. However, since Go is so much more complex than Chess, study and memorization of specific instructional games is efficient only when approaching or at professional level - roughly Grandmaster-equivalent. Otherwise, your time is simply better spent improving your calculation ability with puzzles or by playing games yourself. That said, if you want to memorize some really great Go games, check out Michael Redmond's reviews of historic games on the AGA youtube channel.
@joel_petro5 жыл бұрын
Cruz Cruz that's what I figured. There's just so many more moves one would have to recall per game than in most Chess games. Maybe 3x as many moves. I'm blown away at how easily Redmond recalls the games when reviewing them... Specifically when I was watching him review the AlphaGo-Sedol games that took place just prior, and he recreates it for viewers, move by move. It's pretty extraordinary how they've developed their brains to memorize a games storylines so well. Thank you for your insights!
