Here's what I got when I started tasting it. Up front, Chocolate and Dark Cherries. Middle, Mixed Berries and Red Grape Tannins. End, Slightly Tart, Bitter, and Dry. Medium Body. Medium-Heavy Flavor Profile. Smooth Alcohol Burn. I dig it, worth buying and trying. Will pair well with some Spaghetti later. 93/100 A. Cheers!

The film you're thinking of is the 2004 Oscar winning comedy drama 'Sideways' starring Paul Giamatti. It's an incredible little film and one that every wine lover should watch!! It's hilarious! Paul Giamatti's character in the movie hates Merlot and harshly criticises it often...this (allegedly) caused a huge crash in the sale of Merlot. It became known as the 'Sideways effect'. Funny thing is, it actually increased my interest in Merlot and it's now become one of my favourite grapes alongside Pinot Noir!

Hey guys, while I don't have an issue with mass produced wine I do however have an issue with alcoholic beverages which claim to (in my opinion) be something they are not which in this case is wine, this is like calling a wine cooler a wine, while there is wine in the name and yes, there possibly even is wine in the drink, to call it wine is a stretch. Yes, I completely understand that wine is very subjective and that people look for and appreciate different things in their wines but for me if the only alcohol at a gathering was Barefoot, I would quickly become the Designated Driver :) Thanks for the video guy, I am still waiting on the Charcuterie Board :) By the way, the wine sells here in Freedom Florida for $5.49 a bottle but I think it's overpriced at that :)

Hi Desert Wine Guy, I'm guessing in which case you might score this wine a tad under our lowest score of 78? 😂 The Charcuterie board will be a few months as we have videos buffered until then. We will get to it though! thanks so much once again for taking the time to reach out to us - it is much appreciated. Enjoy the Floridian Sun. In the part of the UK we live the temperatures are single digits now! Also, we hope you escaped any ill effects of hurricane Ian! Cheers👍

@tony59able Hi Tony, I'm sure he didn't mean to come across like that. It is always difficult to pick up the nuances of views when printed in black and white. Hope you are enjoying the videos and thanks so much for taking the time to comment 👍🏻 Happy New Year 🎉

@@WineMastery I thought your review of this wine was spot on. I was given a bottle by a friend to see what I thought. I wasn’t familiar with Barefoot wines but for the money I think this is very palatable. It’s not a fine wine and you did make the point in the video that you had sampled different quality wines from Barefoot. I actually paired this with samosas and salad and it worked a treat. I think it’s an example of the fact that you can find the odd diamond in the rough!

@@tony59able Hi Tony, great stuff and interesting pairing. As we always say there is only one person that can say whether a wine is good or not and that is the person drinking it! I must try more Metlots in 24! Happy New Year and once again thanks for making the effort to comment 👍🏻
