Thank you! I made sure I sat through the Nissan Kicks ad out of gratitude before this video 🙏

I just learned 8 kicks. I'm digging the oblique front kick, low side kick, and the scrape "kick".

Great video. I've always relied on my best, fastest kick low kick in a fight- which everyone has to refine for themselves.

Nice demo Sifu Jason, Wing Chun can be applied as surprising weapons in fighting because of constant hand activities of Wing Chun fighters

What books do you recommend about Jeet Kune Do and Fighting in general? I remember you promoting your books before, but I forgot their name.

Love recommending books! If you’re interested in mine, Jeet Kune Do Foundations and JKD Infighting would be a great place to start. Another JKD book that’s great is Teri Tom’s “The Straight Lead.” A lesser known book is by Jim Driscoll, “The Straight Left.” It’s short but masterfully covers the things you need to understand application and structure. It’s a boxing book but the principles can easily be applied to all-out fighting. On violence and fighting in general, I’d say Rory Miller and Gavin DeBecker are great. “Facing Violence” and “The Gift of Fear” are outstanding. Jeez...there are so many that I really ought to just do a video on this subject. 🤓. Anyway, thanks for watching and for the question. Hope this helped.

One of IFO Frankfurt Thomas Marx's latest videos goes into that question....The title of the video is called - 'IS BRUCE LEE'S JEET KUNE DO JUST A PHILOSOPHY' .....You might have missed that video....There are some interesting points & discussions in the comment section too.

Yeah, sorry about that. We had a slight hitch that we’ll fix for the next live show. Thanks for watching though and we promise we’ll keep getting better...more than likely...🤣.

If you bounce or fall backwards when kicking with the ball of the foot then you are kicking wrong. There is zero difference in the mechanics of throwing a front kick with the ball or heel except the position of the kicking foot (flexion or extension).

Kick is the longest weapon for range. When used to vulnerable targets like knee or groin it is an instant fight ender. But only to be used in extreme life threatening situations.

I have found kicks are just as fundamental in Wing Chun as the hands, but anyway...

Nobody really talks about it, so it must not exist, right? (It's odd how people think it's just about using vertical punches to box)
