Yes I agree. A master can tell if the student is doing it he correct way of the dummy form by just listening to it and notseeing.

Did anyone record the entire seminar? I'll take issue with one point sifu made regarding the square holes. The wooden dummy was around long before Ip Man asked it to be mounted on a frame to accommodate his no-first floor apartment life. Before then, it was always planted/buried, what's referred to as a "dead" dummy. So he's correct, it's about form, but also to keep the arm from spinning.

I will pay good money to see this in action ,and effective against a boxer or s "mma" type,muy thai type fighter..... There just is not any vid any where of this as an effective ,practical use.......... now ,as far as beautiful movement and theory ,ok,yeah its great....... No kind of sticky hand.chi soa,trapping etc have I seen ,working against a detrmined skilled or semi skilled opponent

It is weird.. I was an amateur boxer and professional MMA fighter, I have trained and still do train in Muay Thai...and for some reason I still love the art of Wing Chun. I feel it has a degree if significance to self defense on the streets. With all that said, I think it is super RETARDED for someone, who has never did a bag workout, let alone, sparred in a ring-to train Wing Chun and go out and challenge professional boxers or MMA fighters...🙄🤦🏻
