Wing strut and tail plane bracing wires

This episode covers the manufacture of the main wing struts, with a brief demonstration of making tail-plane bracing wires by silver soldering Mick Reeves fork ends.

Glad you found it useful, the fact that the soft soldering joint failed as did one of the silver soldered joints shows what to do to rectify the situation and that flux and cleanliness are paramount.

well danny you look like you have been through the mill do not despair i love your work i call it full size model standard i use silver rod with flux on bar takes i lot of heat 20 eu for 500 mill not cheap will not fail bonjoir tolouse

Hi I am not sure exactly what you need, the bracing wires are made up using the Mick Reeves Fork ends, is that what you are after? Mick sells the fork ends, you will find them about a third the way down this web page. www.mickreevesmodels.co.uk/~mickreev/Bipes/p2bipe.html Sorry if I have misunderstood completely ;)

@@SomeGuyInSandy Mick and Jim ship all over the world, so you shouldn't have any trouble. He does the flux, stainless wire etc. Lethal website I always spend more than I should. Oh and if I was you I would get some spare screws ;)
