How has Shanahan been so consistent at building a team that is the antithesis of what he was as a player?

Shanahan isn't as bright as people think...he jumped into Yzermans arms after a whole season AND the Stanley Cup playoffs, knowing his knees were shot. As Yzerman fell backwards, Shanahans helmet split Yzermans head open....smooth move.

They are comparing Beckett Senneke to Matthew Boldy. Boldy was second/third line behind some great forward talent at the NTDP, teams were skeptical about his upside and was selected 12th overall. Four years of development Matthew got into gear with the Wild. Matthew had a torrid AHL career with Iowa I still think Trevor Connelly is more of that swing for the fences pick instead of Eiserman.

I would trade Augustine in a package for that 10th pick while maintaining our 15th pick and possibly coming out with 2 of catton/eiserman/helenius etc.. Augustine berggren walman 50% retained

i think Cats in 5 too, but in the end we're all winners since we don't have to suffer through a boring Stars/Rags Final.

I like Sennecke and if he's there at 15 I hope Stevie pulls the trigger, but the guy I'm curious about and would be excited to see is Paraschek.

Excited to see where he goes too, but I worry that the production was that high because of placement and him being an over-ager

Except he's not an over ager though. He's younger than Hage, Sennecke, Catton, Connelly, Lindstrom. He did play on a line with a couple of over agers for much of the season which might have helped but his goals and points weren't just luck. Sometimes guys take longer to develop their game. I think he could be a steal.
