that's cause at heart they were more of a prog band in 80s window dressing rather than an 80s band trying to ride the trends.

I am not even halfway through this video and I have to comment right now! What a fantastic documentary to watch. I loved every minute, hell, second of it! Reb seems to be a down to earth, funny, extremely talented person to work with. Good to know this as he is one of my top 4 guitarists ever. Kips excitement @ 12:30 shows Reb is capable of executing anything that is thrown at or asked of him...while he throws back some beers and keeps the mood light😂. I have been a fan since seeing Winger kick ass live with KISS and Slaughter in 1990 in Charleston, WV (actually since 1989 when they were on The Arsenio Hall Show. I recorded it on VHS lol). Kip is a mad scientist in the creative process and his music never ceases to amaze me as I dig deeper and deeper in. This kept me interested throughout and made me smile & laugh at times. Thanks

WINGER: A great band who had their career ruined by a cartoon. I've loved these guys from the first album. i've seen them several times including just last year at a weekend 80's rock weekend festival. Easily the best band of the weekend. Very underrated band. If people would just give them a chance and an open-minded listen, they'd be blown away.
@RandyWillcox

The part of that I was most aggravated by was how backwards it was. The REAL joke in Beavis and Butthead was that Stuart was a smart kid who did well in school and liked the 80s metal band comprised of the most incredible group of gifted musicians while B & B were complete idiots who could barely survive a day and worshipped anything that was loud and heavy. But, the smart kids who do well in school are always the outcasts. That's who Rush's core audience was. The idea that people used the fact the bright kid liked Winger while the morons liked thrash metal and nothing else as an excuse to hate Winger says a lot about the masses. 🤦🏼‍♂️

In defense of winger. Winger is true musician's. Kip is a perfectionist. Note for note. I love it. Just from what i have heard here, This new winger album should be a really good album. If I had a successful band, I would want kip winger to produce and Reb Beach to session work for us. Kip Winger and Reb Beach just drip and oose with talent. Music needs that so much today. To make it interesting again.

A doc like this really helps those of us listeners better understand the musical genius and hella hard work put into these albums. I wasn’t a huge fan of IV when it came out but in being a fan since their first album and second killer albums, you really have to stop and listen to the differing “parts” of each song. They are honestly just as much pieces of art as any painting considered a “masterpiece”. Well done gents, on all fronts! Amazing work and we all owe you a debt of gratitude for giving us these pieces of yourself! 🤘 Thank you! 🙏

Reb is the GOAT! Everybody in any band is replaceable. There is nobody that could replace Reb in Winger.. Nobody!!! They were a super group before that term was ever used in the industry! Id say that they were the first & they are still going strong! As session musicians.. Kip & Reb went from hating each other to getting along & eventually starting writing together.. at the suggestion of Beau Hill.. the rest is history! Thank you Beau! Winger is a force to be reckoned with!

I'm hearing a little Kings X Ty Tabor type riffs from Reb on a few songs. He can truly make the guitar lead "sing" during a solo. Kip singing great and playing wicked bass. What a pleasure to watch and hear these musical geniuses in action! Always been a fan since the beginning, do a KZbin search for Winger-Live in Tokyo 1991 to see an awesome concert of them at the top of their game. Reb is so young and talented as were they all. Thanks Winger for all the great music, and for more possibly? Rock on guys! Thank you for posting as well.

I always felt that Winger just got caught up what the record companies were looking for at the time. Their individual talent and talent as a band went so far beyond what their image implied. Even today, Kip Winger is one of the best rock singers I have ever heard. Able to hit those high notes effortlessly, he has incredible vocal control. Probably sings at 80% while projecting at 120%. Looking forward to seeing them live finally for the first time in Las Vegas, 11/23/2018

Man Reb is just unreal what a prayer . Everybody knows he’s an Incredible lead player and his 2 handed legato tapping technique is the slickest smoothest shredding my ears have ever heard but what really Impresses me is how tight his rhythms are . Kip n the band came in to Browns cafeteria in Arkansas back in 1992 and sat at my table and had a nice dinner and talked to me for about 40 minutes i was a heavy haul truck driver that didn't look nothing like a truck driver. They were on their way to Dallas Tx to do a concert . after the dinner i escorted them very Quickly to dallas where we parted ways. My big rig was very fast. Lol.. They were the greatest bunch of guys. They never spoke in negatives and complemented me on my new Big Rig. Hope they have continued success. My name is Sammy. Tell them all hi..

Ya know for the monumental amount of shit these guys took from 91-00, they really handled it like mature professionals. I was about 10 when they were getting the first dose of hate from Beavis and Butthead and remember thinking it was cool into my teenage years. Then when I was 19 the guy in my band was playing the opening riff to 17 at practice one day. I gave them a chance and never looked back. Couldn’t believe I had missed out on such talent because of trends. Reb can play circles around most any so called “ shredder” and kip understands and emulates exactly what a front man should be. It’s unfortunate that winger and white lion ( another ridiculously talented band) seemed to get all the dirt thrown at them, as well as getting immediately kicked to the curb, when the big shift took place with shitty grunge rock.

I agree 100%. I never knew how talented they are until I started learning. Bass is my fav and some of Kip's bass lines are just awesome. He understands how less is more on some of his bass lines but can get very intricate when the music calls for it. That's not and easy thing to do or even understand. They are definitely one of my favs. Kip also composes and arranges orchestral music and his work is on an entire different level and continues to show his talent. :-}
