Hi Nigel just watching your video. A useful item I found is MONTANA empty acrylic marker pens. These have interchangeable/spare tips of different sizes. Once you find the colour that works for the metal finish that works put it into the marker pen.

Love that GasPatch stuff Nigel, it's exquisite, particularly those wire wheels. Reskit are bringing out some German wire spoked wheels in 1/72! The mind boggles! If only someone would do some 1/24 scale ones for the MG TC car kits in my stash.

Hi Nige. Here in Asia we have chrome-paint pens - for use on Gundam models - that have 0.7mm or 1.0mm tips that could work for this. I have this WnW kit too, so I’m keen to see how you do the squiggles. Cheers.

I know this is late but when I do turned aluminum panels I base coat the panel in flat colour, then dry brush gloss colour where the panels have been worked. Hammering or stamping would create shiny spots compared to the unworked areas. Turned out pretty nice on my Bandit Trans Am dash panel.

This "turned" finish would not be achievable with your suggested method?

@@NigelsModellingBench ya you picked a tough one lol. What about cheating and making a rubber stamp. And just dabbing it on, like chipping with a sponge.

AKs newer Metalizer paints have a White Aluminum I like. I also use Citadel's metallic paints.

@@NigelsModellingBench I appreciate that, finished the video. I agree with everything you said, but would also love to see the accomplishment of some finished builds. I watch many of your videos with my 8-year old son who calls you the Mad Model Man, he always cracks up from your anger spells. Not only does he now watch you alone on his iPad (build vids only), he now refers to cash as quid and says “you pays ya money ya makes your choice” (we live in the US), though I’m sure he doesn’t even know what that means. He’s also renamed one of his dog stuffys Jess so she has a big fan here too. Your videos are relaxing and no you can’t please everyone. Build what you enjoy building because we’re all going to keep watching you do it. -Steve
