I’m nearing the end of my life and every time I listen to this song I’m reminded of my youth. Mom and dad were alive and my brothers and sister were living at home. I feel like I was born at the right time. To the future I say this. “ Enjoy the music my generation left you”.

I am 83 and retired 20 ago after several million miles as a trucker music was my favorite , raised in Detroit by a country couple from KY I still fell in love with motown an rock & roll and country music , Glen Campbell was the best of the best he could make a great singer and one of the best musicians, he played back up for so many groups.

Thirty years ago. I took a small jet to turn myself in at Allenwood Federal Prison Camp to do some time. I used to listen to this song because I had left without saying goodbye to anyone. We had a lake, a bocce court and gym, no fences and an old abandoned church with cemetery we could use. I became successful after I got out and now I'm retired. Songs like these make you travel back in time.

God this man and his music takes me back. Such a loss to the USA and the world with his passing. Still love listening to his music legacy. Pure Americana.

I don’t think a lot of people realized how much of a badass Glen was at the guitar. He could shred with the best of them with ease. I love you Glen. Rip my childhood crush. ❤

I know I was an exception. When I was in the Marines, when everyone else kept pictures of family and current pictures of early '70's rock and roll stars in their rooms, I had a picture of Glen Campbell. I used to dream of being like the "Rhinestone Cowboy". Unfortunately, reality set in and the dreams were all that were left. Thank you, Glen, for my dreams. RIP.

Otherwordly music written by Jimmy Webb and sang by Glen. This song meant much to me when it first came out. I cried every time I heard it, it was so relatable to me. My boyfriend left me, and I was devastated..............but in time he came back. And married me. I love happy endings.

Galveston and Jimmy Webb perfectly capture a moment in time back in 1968 when so many young men were in Vietnam wondering if their girl back home was still waiting for them. I was 18 in 1968 and that poor GI sitting on a hilltop firebase in Vietnam could have been me.

Growing up in the Philippines, I first heard of Glen from his hit song Rhinestone Cowboy. From there I found out more about his other songs and great guitar talent. So sad watching the documentary about his life fighting the disease that took his life. Rest easy, Mr. Campbell!🙏

I've just heard the most uplifting story when Glen came to my home town of Halifax, England in the 1980s Glen enjoyed his time in Halifax having the chraic with the locals before his sell out concerts. He frequented the pub the Plummet Line on a few occasions enjoying the local ales. So much so that the lass working behind the bar cooked him apple pie of which he looked forward to on his return, on his request. (Halifax Courier have an excellent article) I personally had to see Glen and did so in Manchester on his last tour of the UK. Boy, that was some emotional concert. God bless you Glen. X

"Time and time I tried to tell her so, she just didn't know I would really go." Such a simple phrase says so much. This song always pulls me back to a time so young, first love, arguing, making up over and over. I finally left and didn't come back, eventually hitchhiking across the country. The words really say how I felt better than I ever could.
