Now we understand what the first shot of the last video was all about! It was about powering up someone with AGM batteries. And the one cord that I thought was missing was really there, it was just the only one that was yellow so I missed it. I’ve taken my lithiums down to 10 volts and they weren’t at all pleased about that, but when the sun came up the panels topped off the batteries before noon, even in late October. You know it’s going to be a great video when Jim uses the term, “Shin-dig”. I loved all of the drone shots in this video. There’s just something fantastical about seeing things from an angel’s perspective. Isn’t it funny how insects get absolutely no love, yet people will stop on the road if they see a moose? Curious isn’t it? Just hearing you add the Christmas music as you’re driving reminds me of the last time you filmed North Pole. You both were less than thrilled as you’ve likely done it tons of times. It’d be like asking me to take someone to go see Pike Place in Seattle. Sure I can, but I’ve been there a thousand times. I’m over it. In this case, those in your tour group had not been there a thousand times, so you had to force a grin and excitement. With me, I just pretend that I’m seeing my first Fire Truck all over again. Notice that it’s Jim holding the camera for the group video with Santa. I chuckled a little bit at that. Also, much respect for showing that all-meat pizza! The carnivore in me wholeheartedly approves! Seeing the sticker being put on the Revel and the clean spot being created for it, I’m always thinking back to our conversation about paint colors for the Revel. They ought to just use the mud color and be done with it. No need to wash it, it’ll still look that color. I’m glad you shot video showing the sign “Meadery”, because I was thinking you were saying, “Meatery”. I was getting all ready to see a bunch of different kinds of meat and all, but alas it was about beer…not that I have any problem with beer, though I prefer it without all the chemicals, and at room temperature. Europe spoiled me with good beer. I know that Mead is not Beer, so I can understand the difference. I do think it’s amazing that they grow all of their fruits there. I even smiled hearing the UH-1 fly over. It may have been a UH-60, but the “thump” certainly felt more like a UH-1. By the way, I loved the stand-off shots in this video. While it requires one of you to distance yourself from the rest of the group, it really does make your videos more immersive because we’re seeing it from the outside looking in and that allows us to take in more of the environment you’re shooting. Singing the “Happy Birthday” song twice in one video is almost a bit of sarcasm, which I applaud. Turn 50 and you’ll be pummeled with it! I’m only two years from it myself. I love Jim’s motto, “They’ll figure it out.” There’s something splendidly appropriate for making people see what’s before them and tackle the obstacles they face in order to emerge victorious. It’s also an exercise I’ve seen new couples use to figure out how to communicate effectively and work together as a team. How I light a fire is not EPA-approved. I use a couple cups of used motor oil or diesel and the fire goes from zero to 100 in rapid fashion. Then I throw in a few packets of the Magic Flames that I sent you and it’s a technicolor fire that even kids like. I loved the closing clips. It’s not lost on me why you chose to film the 767 flying overhead. The different flower shots were well done, especially choosing the depth of field that you did. Whatever happened with that property where you two were having to take snow off the roof?
@WingsandWheelsAlaska2 жыл бұрын
Lithium batteries definitely give a peace of mind from that stand point. The AGM's couldn't go below 50% without damaging them. We made them last for a couple years but we were so very happy when we swapped them out. We still can't believe that is the only moose we really saw up close. We normally see them everywhere but not this time! We have been to Santa's house so many times. Just one of those things when you grow up in this area. Years and years of saying hello to Santa :). I am glad you enjoyed the filming in this one. We were trying to grab different perspectives throughout the evening to help immerse everyone. Unfortunately, we got outbid on that wonderful property. There is still a piece of it we would love to have to build a little campground of sorts on if we can scrounge up enough funds at some point. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes things just aren't meant to be at that moment.
