I just started watching your build, I have a GT-S that I feel deserves a 1UZ and I'm stoked to see you've documented the process for us. Quick question: if you pull the ECU relay and the injectors can't open, wouldn't that just leave the residual pressure in the fuel system? I've always removed the fuel pump relay, that way the injectors can still open and bleed out the pressure.

If by the fuel pump relay, you mean the circuit opening relay in the LH kick panel, then yes, that would technically be the correct way to do it to disable the fuel pump. Pulling the 7.5A IGN fuse can also achieve the same. 😄

I like how empty your garage is. I'm always tripping over bikes, camping gear, etc etc... But I ended up using "ready Rod" for my engine mount bolts. I then just cut it to length.

Great channel subscribed, i recently got my hands on a wrecked 90 ls400 i pulled the motor and trans out i plan to swap it into an 81 toyota truck i'm also in CA so smog will be an issue for me too, i plan to go to the state ref when its all done, but one thing i figured id mention on that topic is you might have to go back to the parts yard and track down the 1uz specific charcoal canister to make it emissions legal, they dont typically let you mix and match emissions components from original engine to donar one, but you might get lucky, and hopefully they won't notice but i doubt it. i think the charcoal canister was located in the wheel well on the ls400

Ayy, thank you!! 😊 Awesome to hear you'll be doing the same thing soon; are you keeping the auto trans or going manual? You're right about mixing and matching emissions components for getting BAR'd... but the '95 4Runner canister I got has horizontal ports and fits perfectly. We shall see.

@@winguard96 part of me wants to keep it 5 speed but the auto is in great shape, i guess ill see if it will fit in the transmission tunnel and mock it all up, if that's the case then i think i will keep it auto to make things a little simpler, otherwise the adapter kit you used looks like a pretty nice option.

question : i just seen your video but wanted to know if you still have that down pipe that bolts into the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter ? If your no longer needing can i have it ? I have a celica with the 22re and cant find one . thanks in advance . your car is gonna MOVE with that upgrade 😎

Loving this swap! What kind of suspension setup are you running? I am thinking about lowering my TA60 Carina a little so I tought the same kind of springs etc. would fit straight on there, since they are both build on A60 chassis. Also, what is the outro song name?
