great review. However I disagree that hydro brakes are necessary. There are great regular disc brakes that use normal cables. You can't compare bottom of the line cable brakes to premium hydro brakes. Good disc brakes are cheaper than good hydros, they perform great, and don't require mineral oil in the brake cables. Then you can maintain them yourself-easily. :)

Charles, tell me, please. The official representative office could not tell me the exact figures. Question: 1) Recommended(maximum) weight that can be placed on the fork on one side (there are three attachment points). 2) Mountings under the trunk. Taking into account the trunk itself and things, what weight should be guided? Thanks for the feedback!

Some questions for you What is your height, inseam length? What are your thoughts on the reach, the seat angle, the HTA? Considering your height and dimensions, curious your thoughts on the geometry?
@trevorfields52163 ай бұрын
@CharlesOiumet Is there internal routing for a dropper? This is a non negotiable for me. I can't get the frame unless I can get internal routing.. Other oddly specific question. I'm planning to use Shimano grx 810. 1x11 groupset. But there is an upgrade that some people use, they swap out the cassette to 11-52 Shimano m5100 cassette. Some people use a wolftooth GOAT link to accomplish this. Not sure if you've tried that? Also curious about the reach measurements for your body type/build. Do you feel like the reach was ideal for you, or too short? I tend to ride a lot of steep trails so it's an important factor.

You know, I really love my Winspace Hyper wheels. They really are great. But having a gravel bike that can't accept a stock Shimano GRX800 48/31 chainring seems like an HUGE design oversight. 46/31? Who even makes that? Yeah I understand we can just take the 48 off and swap in a 46 but still, not being able to run stock GRX800 chainrings is a hard pass.
@CharlesOuimet3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get what you mean. This trade-off is to accomodate tires up to 50mm, that's why the chainstay is a bit on the larger side. Thinking about it, maybe a 1-2mm spacer between crank and bb would give enough space right off the bat for a 48mm and avoir chain stuck.

Will a 700c x 50mm tire fit in the rear with a front derailluer? My experience is that a frame with short chain stays like this one will end up having a tire that size hit or rub the FD. Especially a DI2 FD.

Do you see such a difference between a endurance road bike with big tires (Roubaix / defy ...) and a real gravel ? And for racing it seems like they tend to use road big with big tires (a venge winned a major American endurance gravel race if I'm not wrong )
@CharlesOuimet3 жыл бұрын
Good question! I think it depends on the course. Some with hardpack most of the way will be better on a roadbike with big tires, but some gravel races NEED the bigger tires, flared bars. Also gravel races are often 8+ hours, so a more relaxed geo is definitely worth it over an agressive fit. Roubaix and defy dont have the clearance for 40mm tires I think, which is a great tire choice

Hey Romain, G2 is a beast of a bike. Wouldn't really trust that Decathlon bike for extreme gravel ahah. Winspace sell the complete build kit on their site, I'd suggest that if you are on a budget.
