With auto-pause enabled I often start my watch well before runs. When I run with a group there is that standing around chatting waiting for people to arrive before we go. Then I forget to start it. So now I start it when I get there then let it auto-pause while I wait around. Works great and doesn't really add much extra time. But yeah, a real auto-start like the Seiko printing stop watches would be cool.
@ChaseTheSummit9 ай бұрын
For sure! It's almost like I want "Auto Pause" functionality but without it actually ever starting... More like a "Pending Start" sort of thing and once it detects GPS movement the clock starts ticking!

The first couple of miles! Turns out the feature you need most of all is an auto start option, and Fitbit happens to have an excellent one haha

I'm still surprised it does say "i forgot to strat my watch" instead of "watches" 😉 Great vid. Thnx for sharing.

There's definitely an audience for that! Great vlog again!

HAHA thank you for including your ramblings about starting your watch. We all can relate. Lots of cameras start recording before you press the shutter button and delete the footage if you don't check.

Great job! Congrats on finishing the race! This type of video is great as it adds another dimension to your content and who you are. A genuine person that also has a KZbin channel.

I wish that Garmin had an auto-detect option like the Apple Watch has.
@ChaseTheSummit9 ай бұрын
It has "Move IQ" which is supposed to auto-detect activities but it's... not that great lol.
@hermeticallysealed9 ай бұрын
garmin should use the accelerometer to see if you start consistently moving and prompt you "did you mean to start me?", miss minutes style -- of course i wrote this before watching and your idea is better
@ChaseTheSummit9 ай бұрын
That would be super cool. I'd be happy either way lol. A "pending start" option would be nice.

Great video! Did you like the Ace Pro? You should do the monument valley ultra 50k coming up in March!
@ChaseTheSummit9 ай бұрын
It's a great camera but I do miss the tiny preview screen from my GoPro. With the Ace Pro every time I take it out I have to flip up the screen to see the shot so I end up just not using the screen. Still worked great though and the low light images look much nicer than gopro would have! I'll have to check out that race!

This one was with the Insta360 Ace Pro mainly for testing since it's so new. Cool camera though and I think the video looks pretty good especially the darker scenes where my GoPro would struggle. Thanks for watching!

I’m debating on three 300 miles which will be my first hundred mile there’s one but it’s I found out it’s on a Greenway it’s all flat it’s on a Greenway run out it’s in between Alabama and Georgia looks pretty neat. Scenery is beautiful but no I got a run on pavement, and there’s a one in Tennessee That your running around Ridge with a big valley in between and mountains all around that looks nice it’s only 11,000 feet again so it wouldn’t be too bad everything things look really runnable or the more challenging one is up in the mountains of North Carolina, and this one supportswater Wells and stuff in Third World countries so that’s what I might do but this one is got a 30 hour cut off and it’s 18 to 19,000 feet a game and a little bit more money but I might do that one but I’m gonna see love the videos love the channel see you

Dave, great video as usual. Thank you for sharing. You should join us for one of the monthly TARC meet-up runs. I'm leading one on Saturday, January 20th, 8:30am at Walden Pond. Folks decide, that day, how far they want to go. Some run a 5k while others of us may run for 2+hours - nothing blistering fast! Love to see you out there.
@ChaseTheSummit9 ай бұрын
I'd love to join some of the TARC community runs. Unfortunately calendar is always too busy to squeeze them in but I'll see what I can do! Is there a sign up for that?
@markcarlson17909 ай бұрын
TARC will post a reminder for the run sometime the week prior. There is a waiver form to fill out (via FB) but no formal sign up sheet. I get the busy schedule, especially with kids. Either way, we'd love to have you and other animals come out.

Great work Dave, very familiar with that race and trail, skyline is no joke, it’s a great training loop for any distance trail racing! Haven’t raced that particular one but intend to one of these years! I’m local to the North Shore of MA. Ran the Midstate massive 50 mile this past October and I’m registered for the 100 mile October 2024.. Enjoy following your channel you’ve been inspiring, thanks so much! 👍

I'm signed up to do an 18km trail race this Saturday in Okinawa, Japan with about 3000ft of elevation. I also do this race every year but prior years I did the shorter 11-13km distance.

Congrats! Bummer about the watch! I debate this race every year, but always assume it'll be snowy, so I stop training after early November. "My legs are fresh, but I don't know if the fitness is there" describes every race for me! 😂 I love the atmosphere, the aid stations looked like a blast! I'm aiming for my first 50 miler in May at the White Lakes. And yes, there's definitely a need for your channel- I've added this race to my list because of you!
