Lovely tips Sarah! Thank you for making this video! For those out there like me with a smaller budget, here are some tips and options. - If you can't afford a humidifier: Fill a large pot of water, bring it to a boil, turn the heat down to low, and let it steam! If you have them, you can even add essential oils to the pot for a homemade diffuser. - Burts Bees original lip balm is amazing for hydrating and sealing in moisture. - To save money on hydrating hair masks, consider stretching the time between your washes and using a boar bristle brush to spread your hair's natural scalp oils throughout the length. This will keep your hair hydrated for longer. Sleek buns and braids are great for hiding oilyness. - If your ends are dry, a couple drops of food grade avocado or olive oil is an affordable and multi-purpose option for keeping them soft. You can also use the same oil to lightly coat your hair length and ends before a shower to protect it from the warm water. Side note: Many do not consider braids to be a true protective style, because the ends remain exposed and the braid rubs against the body. While braiding your hair is certainly better than wearing it loose, it is worth looking into styles that keep the ends tucked away and the lengths off of the body. Especially in the dry winter months! Examples include milkmaid braids and hairstick buns.

I use castor oil on my cuticles/knuckles before bed. I started doing that I was living in Alaska it would get down to the negatives for most of the winter, and I could not have a car where I was living, so I walked to work every day. Our water was VERY hard and I noticed how it irritated my scalp and skin too. While most of my skin was covered due to the cold, chapped skin was still an issue, and I just liked the self care on tired muscles after a long day of walking. Castor oil was an great "do it all" medium that I used on the ends of my hair, elbows, cuticles and as a massage on my legs. I even noticed a huge difference after I put it on my lips every night, and I didn't have to buy tons of different products.

Hi, Sarah, great video, as always! I was wondering - and don't get this the wrong way - you look extremely youthful and radiant - but what is your opinion on Botox, fillers, and so on from a holistic point of view? So many young women are doing these procedures, and it saddens me a lot as I think that well-taken care of health and beauty is enough to look good at any age. I am interested in your opinion on the topic. Have a great week!😊❤

I was just thinking that it had been a long time since I watched one of your videos, and you popped in my feed.. :) Thank you for these tips. I am definitely on board with the washcloth lip scrub hack, and I loved the silk cap under a large winter hat idea.. It's brilliant, and you look cute as a button in that big hat. :) I always complain that accessories don't suit me.. Maybe I should try one of those oversized hats.. ;)

I have oil-cleansed for years. My hair is low porosity so cold water on it is not good. My cuticle is already so tight that it repels water and moisturizers. My hair is wavy and doesn't like to be contained. Tight hairstyles give me headaches and breaks my hair. I just wear a wide silk headband to keep my hair away from my face. I need silk sheets since I like to cocoon myself completely underneath the covers. Last few Winters it rained more than it snowed. We mostly get the non sticking type of snow. There is only a thin layer on grass that either gets washed away by rain or melts with the warmer day temps. We are in between the North and South. Hot beverages and soup are good for warming the body. We had sinigang (Filipino sour soup for Christmas although Mom originally planned to make Nilaga (meat stew that isn't soured but my siblings and I don't like it; I'd like to try it again as sometimes tastes change and last time we tried it we were very young; I was three to five when we lived in the Philippines; then we returned to the United States where our father, sister, and I were born; Mom and brother were born in the Philippines). I finished the leftovers for lunch today. She put two strange ingredients in it this time. Normally corn and bananas aren't in the soup. I prefer broccoli, spinach, chard, Bok choy, okra, eggplant, tomatoes, and either turnips or radishes. Lee doesn't like it but our son Daniel loves it. Well, he mostly likes broth, green vegetables, and tomatoes. He does not like the turnips and radishes. You stay warmer if your hands and feet are warm. Have warm gloves and alpaca socks.

Do you know where Linen stands as a material coming in contact with hair? 🤔 I’m obsessed with linen but just occured to me it could be pulling moisture out of my hair if wool does
@Kao96..11 ай бұрын
you can use linen without any worries 🙂 it isn't as soft as silk but it will still protect hair from getting dry, frizzy or tangled and pairing a linen pillowcase with a protective hairstyle is just as good as using a silk material only more affordable😁

@lily5952 Жыл бұрын
Women have been using sleep caps for centuries, how can it be "unfeminine"?? This makes NO sense. Some people care way too much about what other people think about the most inane things.
@Kao96..11 ай бұрын
🤨 do you even know a first thing about fashion or being feminine when you claim things like that? 🤣 you seem completely unaware how bonnets work or that they were once a staple of femininity and were worn everywhere including being a part of the fanciest outfits and not just to protect the hair at night.. Before you chose to criticize someone, educate yourself first and do better😪😮💨
