You are amazing Gene. I have never even thought about trying to catch bluegill and shellcracker in the winter before. Thanks for teaching me that is a possibility.
@markw.mullins22083 жыл бұрын
Gene, As usual, you bring happiness into a sport that truly is second to none. The first fish I caught as a child was a little more than a foot long catfish. I had an old time Pfluger rod and reel that my grandpa gave me. He was a fisherman also. Its in a persons heritage, and once its there, its there for life. Always love the ending of your vids. and yes, I do go fishing when I can, because its good fer me.... but here lately uncle Arther and Aunt Rittis visit me every day, especially during the winter months. You also mentioned Yamaha outboards. Dad had a Yamaha 15 on his little aluminum boat. It would skeedaddle and leave the others wondering why >? I got a 14 foot TomBoy boat with a 35 Evenrude, made in '77 Hasn't give one tickle of trouble since I've had it. Keep up the good work pard, and will continue to pray for you, and you remember me in prayer also. My health is n one too good right now. and GO FISHIN' WHEN YE CAN, "Cause it's Gud Fer Ya !!! LOL

Richard I am truly amazed at how you catch any fish with ease. And i'm sure that your knowledge is from years of fishing and the love of doing it. It is true that a man who fishes will never starve because like you not being a big fish eater will in bad times know how to catch fish. Thank you for your knowledge. I used to think that night crawlers were a waste of time but now I have a great appreciation for how to used them through your videos. Thank you so much

Right now I’m fishing from the bank on the rocky shore below the dam. Where the rough water flows around the wing wall and the current pushes to the show. It’s where the heavy current meets the slack in a bout 12 to 15 foot of water

An old man in Alabama showed me a trick when I lived down there how to get your hook back when they swallow it without hurting the fish. Put a stick in the fishes mouth and twirl the fish clockwise so the line wraps around the stick. Just hold your line with your left hand and spin the fish with your stick with your right hand. Literally like it’s a ratchet or noisemaker. The hook will set in the stick and the fish will fall right off. I was amazed when he showed me but it works! No more cutting line and no swallowed hooks for the fish.
