Thanks Richard for the creek fishing episode! My young boys and I always look forward to your videos, we watch them together and then talk about how we can use your techniques when we fish together. Your channel has really helped my boys learn to appreciate the fish, big and small for their beauty and the experience. Thanks again 👍🏻

When I was little,, My Grandma would take us fishing. When we got to the spot, she would get us settled in our spots then she would walk off a ways and fish by herself with just a hook, worm and sometimes a split-shot just a few feet off shore. She would ALWAYS catch the biggest fish.. We named that the Grandma rig and I still use it to this very day. She was by far the best fisherman I ever knew.
@NobodyWhatsoever6 жыл бұрын
Richard, you made me want to take a walk down my local creek! It's not too many hours from you, and it's great. Every time it rains enough to flood the creek out, a new variety of fish gets washed in!

Much respect for RGTFM. He catches fish because he has confidence he’s gonna catch fish. And, by the way, this water is beautiful. Further, the history books are gonna say he made fishing so easy that aliens must have done it. Just say’n.

I am so glad to see your videos. I have learned so much. I live in an area with almost no accessible creeks or freshwater streams or lakes but you have inspired me to learn anyway about freshwater fishing. Why? Because that’s what I learned using a cane pole and bobber when I was a kid 70 years ago. Old ladies can learn new stuff too.

I call fishing weightless, fishing naked. Lol. Panfish love the natural presentation & like hitting it on the fall. In clear water, if you can't see your worm set the hook. Sometimes, I'll add a split shot & see if I can catch a bigger panfish off of the bottom. I have caught more of a variety of panfish off off the bottom, if you can get it past the Bluegills. Lol.

I always use a slip jig type setup when fishing with worms/night crawlers 2 #8's about 6 to 8 inches apart and with the worm head up seems to give a great presentation and fish will strike it every time.

Love your videos Richard. I watch and re-watch all the time and learn something different every time. At the end of this one you show the fly tying vise you were given. You commented that you clamp the head in the vise, when in fact you clamp the bend of the hook in the vise, either point up or down. Which ever is easier for what you are doing. Good luck, and keep up the good videos. Thank you a lot.

That's r.gene for you just as tickeld on a creek as if he was pulling bass out of the lake also great tip on staying low so as not to spook fish it can mean the difference in catching or not also you mentioned trying not to let the fish swallow your bait if that happens cut the line as close as you can to the hook it gives the fish the best chance to survive
