Hi everyone! This video seems to be getting more thumbs-down than we usually get... over whether or not it's a four season "tent" or a cabin. I just want to remind everyone that Gatineau Park (who kindly let us stay there for free) describes these oTentTik structures across Canada as prospector-style four season tents on the park's official website... so out of respect to them, that's why we've called it a tent. Sure, the canvas structure does have a door and some windows, though please remember they get hundreds of visitors each year, so for reasons of durability and practicality, it needs to be built to last. And for those who think we're not "roughing" it enough, or capable out there... I've filmed professionally for 36 hours straight in the snow, up a windy mountain, in -15°C. No sleep. No shelter. That's "roughing" it... so I don't really need to prove anything to anyone. In any event, I hope you enjoyed the quality of this 4K & 3-axis gimbal stabilized video, along with the detail in the edit... and maybe check out our 7 day canoe camping trip in Algonquin Park if you're looking for something more intense: goo.gl/FThGXh ...no pun intended. Thanks for watching! :)

Chris, you and Julia have NOTHING to prove, or account for. KZbin is a free world, and you two are only documenting your adventures here. Why anyone would take issue with you over whether or not it's a "tent" or a "cabin" is beyond me. I have also done a lot of outdoor camping in both tents and cabins, and I know that it simply does not matter what the semantics are. It amazes me how much people take this sort of thing personally, when they forget that they are only watching snapshots of your lives on a free channel, and they still feel as if they have a right to criticize. To the "thumb-downers", it is very simple. If you don't like what you see, then watch another channel. And of you haven't had similar experiences, then you have NO right to judge. You and Julia create beautiful content, period. Keep on keepin' on, Prouse's!

I love to see people enjoying themselves in "my backyard". I've lived there all my life and get to see all those animals up close on a regular basis. As for camping, my friends and I go even further up into the forest, where nobody dares to go, weeks at the time. It is fantastic and this winter's milder weather with much snow made it even more enjoyable.

It's clearly obvious you're incredibly talented and professional. I am blown away by it all and very grateful you provide such an amazing and inspiring pathway for others to follow. Let's not forget.....we're receiving all of this for free....Let it be said, I am grateful and thank you for continuing to entertain and inspire me to spend more time outdoors in my (northern Wisconsin) winters!

Yea! you did it...went winter camping! I know exactly what you mean about going outside in the forest at night. I went winter camping for the first time in my 3 season tent on the 2nd week of January in Algonquin Provincial Park and I would always go for an evening walk. It's incredibly peaceful for sure. Can't wait to do it again and can't wait to see your next vlog! LOVE THEM ALL!

@kellybalkom71497 жыл бұрын
The only drive in campground open in the winter is Mew Lake off hwy 60, but I have seen people park at Mew and from there snowshoe or ski on groomed trails towards campgrounds that are closed by rd. Algonquin offers lots of wildlife opportunities.

One of my all-time favorite videos that y'all have done! At present, I am sitting in a cozy house in West Texas in the middle of a snowstorm too!! (Although I realize this is occurring at completely different times...duh). But it is so touching to watch y'all straight up ENJOY Winter camping!! I grew up in Eastern Colorado and we went camping every year in the winter with our church youth group. It was AWESOME FUN!!! Talking about your highs & lows...the high, for me, was zipping along course after course, until I was faced with the dreaded "Black Diamond" ski run. I took the S.O.B. and screamed all the way down!! 😆 Low was when my cousin tried to wash my hair in the ice-covered river!! AAHHHhhhh!!! That hurt like a thousand pins & needles and I don't think that I ever recovered....(well, at least that's the way I'm gonna retell it!! 😁) Thanks for the glimpse if the incredibly beautiful & serene Canadian winter wonderland! Y'all take care & God bless!! 💛🧡💜❤️

From the Netherlands: Nicely edited..! I love the smooth captured winter scenery movements. And as a former driving instructor: I love the car spin.. 😎 Only one thing.. As this (day #1) video was captured 5 days ago.. Should we worry and call a Canadian rescue team?

Thanks Rudy! Haha, if the next video's not up by the end of the week, send in the rescue team! :)

9:45 - 11:58 thank you for making fun of youtubers that try and make the simplest things look like epic journeys. So many people think that because someone is good at editing a video, means they are missing out on something in life and feel down about their own. Thank you!

I used to work a few blocks away from Gatineau Park. Great groomed ski trails. Never a problem skiing at night (reflected light off the snow or better yet moonlight).

Really enjoyed this. Thanks for making it feel a couple degrees cooler here in +35°C Australia. *Those dislikes must be from pure jealousy.

As a fellow Honda Fit driver, that hands down has to be there coolest, most Fit maneuver I have ever seen. Can’t wait for some Lake Effect snow now.

Enjoyed watching your adventure as 2 feet of snow blankets Western Maine. The bad news is I have to remove it from my driveway when it stops tomorrow. Oh look, I just spotted EPISODE 2!!! What luck. Incredible video ladies, thank you.

Thanks Scott! I feel your pain... spent a good part of today shovelling the snow, and it's still coming down! Hope it goes well :)
