It’s 100% a wolf track, and a big one at that. You can tell it’s a canine due to the claw imprint and the shape. You can also tell the size of an animal by how deep of an imprint it makes.
@HalenTaylor029 ай бұрын
Bear tracks also leave claw imprints, and I don’t think the depth of the imprint has anything to do with weight or size of an animal, more so to do with the temperature and quality of the snow. If the animal is walking on it at night during the coldest part of the day it’s going to leave almost no mark, vs a sunny day and everything is sort of melting
@WildColoradoDad9 ай бұрын
@@HalenTaylor02 I mean this in the nicest way possible, and im not trying to start an argument, but the tracks in the video don't show much snow melt. When tracked begin to melt the sides of the track start melting inward. It is also not a black bear track. Ive worked with wolves for several years, and I do predator education. Everything you said was correct though.
@adolfhitler693959 ай бұрын
Couldn't be the dog, that's crazy
@davidvaughn77529 ай бұрын
You really cannot rely on the depth of the imprint to determine the weight, at least in snow, since as was mentioned, conditions and underlying strata have a lot to do with how the impression appears. Size of the track is most determinant. This was certainly an adult and probably a male since males are larger than females and there are no other wolf tracks associated with it, so it was a lone wolf. The paw print is huge!

Great to see you and Parker having a great adventure! If someone else told you this disregard. I researched having a camp stove like you bought on KZbin. A silicone mat seemed to be recommended the most, but some type of fireproof mat was required. Not only to prevent flying embers, but so your stove doesn’t freeze into the melted snow while you wait for it to cool so you can pack it up.

I've been teepee tent tent camping for 3 or more years now and you learn things as you go. For instance getting a fire blanket or a fire pit mat under the stove was something i only figured out myself after a couple of trips . I have several tarps now with small burn holes in them. And if you're camping without a floor , it helps keep leaves or grass from igniting from the stove's heat.

First off, love seeing all of the winter adventures (I'm about to move back to a 4 season environment) and it's inspiring me to make the most out of winter/the "off seasson." Also thank you for sharing your experience trying content creation full time. Same thing happened to me when I gave being an entrepreneur a go and it's refreshing to hear another say they don't mind their full time job and keeping this as a hobby. That's exactly how I felt and can relate 100%. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming adventures!

Oh wow - I'm so happy to hear you challenge yourself over turning your hobby into a job. I have done this twice and it's a terrible idea. I used to love computers before working with them (unfortunately now a lost cause) but then I nearly did it again when I played in a band. We'd practice and play gigs so many times in the week that it turned into a job and I started to resent that time when it should have been the best time ever. I stopped playing so often and now I'm back loving it as much as ever. Another great fun episode. The Canadian winter affords you opportunities for "playing outside" we don't get this side of the Atlantic. Best wishes from the UK.
