You can easily turn a 3-season tent into a makeshift 4 season on using 2 mylar emergency blankets (that are a couple of bucks each. Put up the tent, but not the rain fly. Put one of the blankets on it, you can even add a blanket from home on top of that. Then put the rain fly on it. Just found your channel not too long ago. I love camping but haven't gotten a chance to go in about 5 years since my elderly mother started needing constant close care. I feel like I get to experience it through your videos though. Thank you for that. I like everything about your videos. Don't change anything please. From watching you set camp to cooking, it's all great and very relaxing. Great job.

Beautiful photography in a beautiful spot. Wow. Those who don't do winter camping are missing out, and that's a good thing for those who do.

Love it just a simple overnighter. Allot of the County campgrounds here lock the gate but some list that winter camping is okay; just don't want you to drive in so you have to park at the gate. Since its really only one crazy guy like me not much worry on parking. Just sucks to have to ask always stresses me out that the person you talk to may not be the guy that calls to get your car towed.

Back in the 70's camping with my Dad, he would bring along an aerasol can of hair spray called "Final Net" and upon packing and leaving he'd spray the mantels. Worked every time and prevented damage, burns off on relight, used the same one's for years...

My cities (toledo) parks have free firewood for the stoves and pits (we have these little half cabins along the river for fisherman) but Im not sure about the campsites.

Even here in the Mojave desert of California I use a -15F /-26C rated bag in the winter. Temperatures only ever drop to sometimes 17F / -8C. Cold by our standards, but having that bag and a down Parka make a world of difference! I use my summer camping gear for everything else.

Watching these really old (as old as two years can be, I guess, but you've come so far) is fun knowing where you've wound up with this little KZbin Channel, dude. You inspired ME to camp with nothing and I love the thrill. Happy you've got to where you are..

I always bring the wax fire logs from Loblaws. Really cheap and start with a match. One log burns for three hours. I always mix them with wood. Great if its raining or wet wood. Great video

On summer tents in winter - remember your blanket fort? Use a few old blankets to create a inner shell matching the tent walls and hanging from any gear loops on the inside, or sew in your own. The one thing is that the shell must not, as you know, touch the tent walls or risk drawing moisture through osmotically.

Man that takes me back to my teenage years in Nova Scotia. Camping in the middle of a blizzard in a Summer tent and cheap sleeping bag. Warm clothing is the key. Especially a warm hat and socks and some black rum. Thanks for the cool videos Steve.

My first thought would have been to put the tent up in the wood shed, lol. If not, then put the tent up inside of a slightly larger tent, then a tarp over all to hold the heat in. That broth on the turkey is good to replace part of the water in the stuffing mix. Gives it extra flavor. Or..... set the broth aside to heat up later in a coffee cup to enjoy by the fire. To cook with butane in the cold, I start with 3 cans under my coat so they are warm. I start cooking with one, then when it stops, I swap it out with a warm one so I can keep on cooking and the cold one can warm back up. That food looked yummy!

I do a very similar Thanksgiving on the trail meal, chicken pouches, stove top, gravy powder package, dried cranberries, corn, and instant mashed potatoes. It's heavy, and bulky but a huge moral boost while backpacking. Keep it up man, I love your outings.
