Dear Santa Here is my Christmas List Steak A really nice stick. Not to branchy but not to small Lots more of that orange powder stuff, yeah I like that um, a 1,000 count Egyptian cloth sleeping pad with little pictures of me on it More steak. Just want to make sure you got that one. It's real important. I mean more than one steak would be great or as much as you really like to give me. I'm not picky. Oh one more thing. It blows me away when you’re talking about not needing a shelter and being hot at 35 degrees Fahrenheit for me Living in Western Australia anything below 50 degrees Fahrenheit is insanely cold hopefully one day I’ll get to experience that type of camping

I live in southeast michigan, and it doesn't generally get as cold as it does where matthew lives but we pretty much consider 30 degrees to be "decent" and my usual winter attire even when its minus 5 is a thermal long sleeve shirt, a t-shirt, a heavy sweater and a winter vest, sometimes the t-shirt is too hot though, fleece pj's under my pants which completely blocks out the wind cutting through jeans or lighter pants when its minus ten or below, gloves scarf and wool socks

I’m just as likely to get sunburnt as I am cold herein WA winter clothing for me consists of boots jeans t shirt and jumper maybe a beanie but just as often shorts and a t shirt our lowest temperature this year was about 5-6 degrees centigrade

It depends, if there isn't a lot of wind, I find it's easy to stay warm with the proper equipment and clothing. But I also think ppl like me and him are really used to the cold because of where we live. I dont know about him per say I'm in the Rocky Mountains, Canada. Personally I worry more about bears, cougars and wolves. 💕 Happy Holidays!!!!

Tiny eyes or not Monty is adorable! Tip..... take cotton balls and coat them with petroleum jelly and put in a baggie. They will burn a long time to get your fire started if it’s windy or you don’t have a cool starter like you usually use. Love the videos, it gives me confidence to try winter camping!

I also use dryer lint, and I put balls of it into separate egg cartons and then pour some wax over them, leaving some of the lint out to use as a place to light it. My dad taught that one years ago! And did you know that Cheeto's also are a great way to start a fire! They are very flammable...

If the weather is not too challenging, like on an exposed peak, and it's not super cold, why would anybody want to stuff themselves into a tent?? We're out there to enjoy the environment. Tarps are best when it's not bug season.

I refuse to sleep in a tent too. I’m way too into sleeping in my hammock. I love it even in below freezing weather but I glamp, so I can carry tons of blankets in my car so I can stay toasty warm.

I had a collie named Puppy, I just had to put him down in April. I loved my Puppy, I loved my Collie, best dog I could have ever asked for. I don’t need to tell you I am sure, but treasure every minute of your dog. I wake up everyday missing him. Best breed in my opinion, loyal, smart and caring. Might be a dumb question from a sheltered grown city boy but yo, do you camp out in random spots in Forrest or is it an actual camp ground? Also Monty just walks around freely and calmly, are there any predators around like bears or large cats? And when you go out for walks, do just use the trail u left behind to find your way back? but what if you actually get lost? do you have GPS thing or?

The general rule is that you're allowed to camp on state owned land for free as long as it isn't a state park or a designated recreational spot. If you don't need the amenities from an official camp site there's no reason to choose that option and pay the fee. I don't think that part of michigan has a lot of dangerous wildlife and the area is maybe 30 miles across at best, even if he didn't know the area and had map/gps so he got lost, he'd just have to walk south until he hits the highway.

I believe he's camping in a state park where it's legal to camp. Thats why on some of the canoe videos you will notice that he has to make camp in and spot where there is a fire grate. That's the rule for that area.

I’m happy to see your subscribers have increased like crazy. Stressed people looking to chill out. I camped cross country with slide on truck camper with a malamute and German Shepard. At 100 lbs each you know how much room they took up. I miss the travels with dogs. Almost lost one at a camp ground late at night but she came back. Scary.
