It would be but I have to wait until all the duck hunters are done hunting. I usually don't get on the water until after 2 pm. I got two or three hours to fish. But it is pretty peaceful after that.

Yank!!! Any day a man can be on the water with a crappie pole in his hand is a good day. Really enjoy watching your fishing videos. Are you allowed to keep fish you snag where you're at? Why are so many fish injured or scarred?

Yes, it was not intentional and he bit the bait. This is actually called foul hooked. I did not use a treble hook to snag. but You can snag below a dam where snagging is allowed. The fish are scratched up because there are alligator gar and Long nose gar that chase them all the time trying to eat them.

I was wondering if you had actual alligators to deal with. We have paddlefish snagging back home. I've seen a number of YTers snagging buffalo at dams. I should go reread the regs. I tend to just throw back anything without a hook in the mouth. Thanks.@@FishYanker

@dryerflyer yes we have alligators all over the state but I have not run across one fishing yet other than the damn area where there are many. Yes you should be able to keep any fish that's foul hooked as long as you're not intentionally snagging with the treble hook. That said if you try to score the fish as a state record. It will be disqualified. I definitely would check your local regulations to verify or ask a fishing and wildlife officer.
