Winter Hike on the Longs Peak Trail | Rocky Mountain National Park

Hiking and snowshoeing on the Longs Peak Trail to Chasm Lake Junction in Rocky Mountain National Park on January 14, 2023. I've been to Chasm Lake and up Longs Peak many times in the summer, but this is my first time on this trail in the winter. I was planning on going all the way to Chasm Lake, but it was very windy above the tree line and it was getting late, so I'll try again another time this winter.
To access, use the Longs Peak Trailhead located off Peak to Peak Highway (Hwy 7) located 9 miles south of Estes Park.

Distance: 7.0 miles (11.3km) round trip
Trailhead Elevation: 9,405 feet (2,867m)
Chasm Lake Junction Elevation: 11,543 feet (3,518m)
Elevation Gain: 2,138 feet (652m)
Difficulty: Moderate
Conditions:
Clear Sky at the start, overcast at the end. High winds above the tree line.
Temperature: 34F (1C) at the trailhead at the start of the hike.

Thanks, it was a great day other than the wind. The nice thing about winter hiking out here is that it almost never feels as cold as you'd expect.

Yeah, I think I saw around 5 people on the trail with no one above the tree line. I was planning on going over to Glacier Gorge but figured there wouldn't be an parking spots as late as I started, no problem at the Longs Peak trailhead.
