That totally felt like you herding non-camping or van living cats lol Do a cast iron season on your pie irons. Cast iron is some work, but worth it. I have a frying pan and dutch oven that my family knows to just basically not even mess with. I can fry eggs without them sticking. Do a good initial season, then just cook with them. Never use anything harsh to scrub, just gentle dish soap and water or simmer in water if something gets stuck. A lot of times if it's not really dirty I just wipe it really good with paper towel. Grease is your friend.

We always used the spray oil for ours when we made them so they don’t stick And we always called them “mountain pies” instead of “pudgy pies” but my family is a bunch of hicks, so 🤷🏻‍♂️
