I watch you and others use those burners and think I should get one, then think, just one more darn thing to carry and I just cook on a fire. Handy hint: keep a couple pages of newspaper in your pack, it weighs about nothing, takes up about no room, and makes life easier. Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!

Oh how I miss the Midwest, big rivers, and big cats. Thanks for your channel, I enjoy watching. I’m originally from Dakotas and sure miss the Missouri River, and it’s tributaries. In Northern Nevada now and go to Hell’s Canyon Idaho for big cats. Is great on a yak, and you can get towed by some monster sturg as a bonus. Make a video out west on the Snake!

I fully agree with the odd feeling you get while sitting in a little plastic boat in the middle of a giant river. I fish in the Mississippi about the middle of Illinois as far as location. I love it when they’re biting good and I catch a big one, but I’ve been tied off to a giant log pile under a train bridge in the middle and, Wel, nothing but. It if something would have it woulda had to be massive as I had a 13” 1lb or so bullhead on one rod in there. Lol. But it’s a crazy feeling being way out there. I really enjoy maneuvering the boat around in the current, finding the slack water lines amongst fairly stout current I find that interesting. And also challenging as far as how to get the boat pointed the right way next to where you wanna tie off. Good luck! Hope you catch another biggin!

Man you need to be careful along the rivers with the sand, here in Mo. about fifteen years ago a man walking down the side of a river squirrel hunting. A boat coming down the river they saw something that caught there eye, luckily for the man squirrel hunting. They steered closer and all that was above the sand was his head. He could not even talk to them he had screamed for help so much he had hurt his voice. They called for help and they got him out.
