Winter Log Cabin
This is a rough and primitive A-frame style log cabin. It is built with hand milled pine and cedar logs, harvested from the local land. The cabin itself is settled into the ground about a foot or two. A very simple and affective way for raising the side walls, to create more head room inside the cabin.
The roofing will be made of river birch on top of waterproof tar paper for living purposes. The fireplace will be built out of local rock and I will use concrete to increase its stability. These two projects will be next on the list to do, and will be done soon.
With a place to live in the wilderness, comes great explorations and adventures. I can soon start to get back to work on skills, and simple living. Hunting and fishing will be a great part of living at the cabin, and of course cooking and baking with many recipes.
Thank you for watching

When I was homeless, I lived in my car. On cold nights, the rain is pleasant. I don't know how many times I heard the sound of rain patting on the car. Didn't realize I would miss it. Now I listen in my bed, with my wife. Helps to sleep well, reminds me of the hard times, makes you value the good times. Lots of love to anyone who had to listen to this noise.

Awesome build ! new sub : Man that is hard work dragging all the logs and building in the wet snow, I love watching so many different builds in so many different ways, In my younger years I went to stat trapping but needed a cabin so 2 of us went to work felling dragging 10 inch logs with skidoo and in 5 days we built a 13'+ 22' in -15 and wind & snow , you work hard so you stay warm :) awesome build with pretty basic tools, stay safe out there,

Great work! Cabin looks good. I’d improve strength of the Door. Bear proof it. Should have had both parts of door open out. Plus stronger wood added to the door…. Just my observation…. Otherwise: 👍

I was homeless Christmas 2022 and new years 2023 lived in my car five months with my dog.it was so cold as the car had ran out of gas and the battery was dead.i stated in a Lowes parking lot all that time.the manager said it was ok.because I was a veteran I'm a retired navy nurse practioner. I'm now living with a couple on there farm in logoff south carolina. But I crave going back to the woods.when I got out of the service I lived out of my van until I could get a job at one of the veterans hospitals and got a job in Columbia SC until they retired me after 20 years.the rent went up in my apartment I could not afford it went back to my car.now that broke down and I'm stuck on this farm.tha KS ken
