Can't say for certain but i believe most of us have not done Bonsai as long as you so content like this is highly appreciated. What is better than watch experienced people share tips and tricks on the early stages. Special satisfaction is to start from scratch seed or cutting.

I absolutely appreciate watching you work on less developed trees. I actually got very excited when I saw the thumbnail of the video.

Slow is so difficult nowadays for many folks. Everyone seems to expect instant gratification for almost everything. Great show Nigel!

Thanks for taking the time to show the process from seedling to maturity. As a beginner in bonsai, I really appreciate the tips you provide, even if I do have to remember I’m in a different hemisphere 😂

You say that these videos are not exciting or dramatic. They do not have to be You are teaching me and others so much about the art of Bonsai. I thank you very much, I enjoy my daily dose of the Bonsai Zone.

I love seeing when you take special care of these younger bonsai. It will be so rewarding in the future to look back on these videos and compare them to what they looked like in their various stages. It is very inspiring.

To see the progression of a tree over the years is highly beneficial to see the result of actions taken. I can take away a lot from this! Please keep going this way 🙏

I guess there are many viewers in their first years of being into bonsai who are keen on to get to know what to do with young trees. I am one of them :) Many thanks for this kind of video, Nigel!

It's fun seeing you work on a field maple! They are native to my area and within a 15 minute walk I can see some rather large specimens on the forest's edge. I've often read it described more as shrubby or small for a maple, but this at least is not the case where I live. They still reach a good fifteen to twenty meters even on the drier east-facing slope on the top of our hill our local forest grows on. Cheers

I like your theory on how to keep this tree small yet unique in its own way.

The Field Maple and Trident Maple are quite comparable in leaf size etc. Both great species for Bonsai! It's fantastic to be able to see the development of trees over a long period of time here!
