I've had so many conversations with a friend of mine who is recovering from a major surgery about how frustrating it is when our bodies don't or can't work the way we want them to. It's such a hard experience, but I'm sending positivity and comfort your way!

Huhh, this video was actually a real masterpiece in my opinion. Snowy, movie-like clips and cozy reading scenes...and I have to say, it is really cool that you played the flute and the guitar and showed that too in this video! So excited for your further wintery vlogs/content! I have been here for a while but I've also been gone for short periods of times - especially when school and life got really busy - but I am really excited to be here with you again. And it's really great that when you are stressed you do not disappear, you just share that with us too and we can support you if only in the comments but we can and you help us too, so greatful for you emma.

Hey Emma, I discovered your channel this year, soon after I moved from Ontario to the US, and I immediately got the 'Canadian' vibes. Your channel made me feel like home right away (although I'm not originally from Canada). I love your thoughtful analyses, I was having a hard time finding a booktube channel that talks about more than the hype books of the season and I love you're also talking about classics. I feel for you and pain issues. For the past 2 years I've been hit by a severe form of IBS and this one is here to stay (associated with bacterial overgrowth). It's changed my life completely, it's altered my diet severely (plant-based ingredients were my favorite and now they're trying to kill me; I miss a big salad soooo much) and it came with a lot a lot of pain (and anxiety ). Mindfulness, a good doctor and lots and lots of books have helped. I hear you, I know how it's like to have a day when your productivity is low because the pain makes it hard to focus. And yet, with friends, family and books (lots of books) we manage. Oh, and walks. You make me miss snow, and I never thought I'd say that :D. Warm hugs from south of the border

I also struggled this past year with my body and mind not working properly (found the reason and I'm much better now!) and had to reduce the amount of classes I could take at university, which I took very hard, but you were part of the reason that made me be okay with it and be patient with my body, so thank you!

hi emma! introducing myself as requested 🥰 i’m Faye, i’m 18, live in the UK, and discovered your channel in what was i think early 2021. i have been the biggest bookworm all my life and have found such solace and companionship in your videos. how you talk about the nuances of language in books and take such pleasure in really zooming in and out and analysing and re-analysing is so thrilling and beautiful to me, and has led to me falling even deeper in love with books. i read war and peace alongside you and carolyn back in may, and have such happy memories of reading a section and diving headfirst into one of your Tolstoy Diaries videos for your thoughts. you feel like such a close friend, to the point where i don’t know how or why i’ve never commented before! ♡ you’re such a beautiful soul and bring such contentment and serenity to so many people. lots and lots of love xxx

Emma, I was in your place about a year and a half ago with guitar, and I must say, it is better to play about 10 or 20 minutes a day consistently, even when it hurts, than trying to play for hours a night, and I would say in 2-3 weeks your fingers won’t have that trouble! But consistency is key, and eventually you’ll be able to play for hours without your fingers hurting. Good luck and I’m looking forward to seeing your progress!

I have been here for a while and I have always really admired that about you. For a couple of years I have also been struggling with being very hard on myself and fearing a bad grade even though I know those thoughts are not reality. It can feel numbing, painful and it's often a period with loss of hope. I wish you the very best of days, your videos sure make mine better :) I also wanted to tell you that it is so courageous to open up and tell people about your chalenges. In the light of everything that we do "wrong", we often forget to praise ourselves for the things we find normal but which are actually very rare. You seem like one of those rare souls you come accros every so often who makes people feel heard, seen and cared for just by being. So thank you thank you thank you Emma

It's so difficult to take time to care for yourself, to slow down and remind yourself about what life is really about, etc. But it's so important and I'm glad you talk about it in this video. It is Sunday morning around 9. I woke to watch Emma again. Well, I am Lewis and I love snow and winter. The snow was up to my knee height when I was at college in the UK. I had a head injury when I was very small, but I don’t attach anything to it now as it was just so long ago. Perhaps my ultra sense of optimism has something to do with it. I was first drawn to your channel when I was randomly searching for Agatha Christie not long ago. There you are…Emma the sleuth. Watching your vlog is becoming part of my routine. Hello, Emmie, I enjoy watching your vlogs about reading and daily life so much, which gave my busy winter preparing for a big exam some fun! A little hail from China.

Je suis si heureuse de voir que le livre te plaît ! 🥰 je n’ai plus qu’à le lire à mon tour ! I meant every single word I write, even if this Amazon paper is way too small ! You help me in my everyday life even if you don’t know it, and thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️ Love from France 🇫🇷 Morgane 🌻✨
