honestly, if you live in the US or Canada, going car camping (like front country camping) is an easy way to get into it. Basically park your car, and set up a tent near it. No lugging stuff around and generally have access to a washroom of some kind (pit, flushing, or something) and water. The camp site will probably even sell fire wood.

Hey Steve, I live in Wales, UK, and a friend emailed me about your channel last week and I've been addicted to your videos since. I've been trying to find the right words, because I'm not someone who has ever enjoyed camping, or been interested in it so I had to do some internal assessment as to why I'm absolutely addicted to your videos. When watching I find myself fascinated, yet also relaxed, taken away from the politics and anxiety that is found everywhere right now. There's so many elements I love, firstly the concept is cool, and the random and crazy places you setup in are fascinating. But, what really makes these videos, aside from the professional and excellent videography, is you. You're genuine, devoid of agenda and politics and this is so refreshing especially in these current times; Steve what you're doing is all round awesome, thank you.

Steve, my dude, I have been having some extremely hard times recently, and stuff has been extremely complicated, and I gotta say I love the videos during all that. It's extremely therapeutic to watch someone take such enjoyment from just a simple meal in the woods with a friend. Steve, that little circular flap on the tent panel with the door is a propane hose port so you can feed your hose through there instead of underneath the wall. That way you can have snow packed around the outer brim and not have to worry about tunneling your hose through it. Pained me a bit to see it go unused, lol, gotta use that beauty of a shelter to its full potential! Cheers!

Great film Steve! I love campfire meals even if they do look pre-digested! I love the call for donations to local charities!Good man! The family and I made care packages for a local shelter and dropped em off today. P.S. I had no clue that NoName made beer… amazing! Stay healthy, stay strong and stay you!

Hey Steve, just wanted to say thank you! I'm a fairly new viewer but I've found myself occassionally binge-watching your channel while I work from home & I love your style of camping! I used to camp stealthily a lot as a teen out of necessity, as my father was not an easy man to get along with. I love the spots you pick, as I've found myself hiding out in many similar areas, even long after I moved away from Dad & it's SO awesome seeing you enjoying the same sort of random hidden spots, & sharing the joy to so many others! I hope you end up camping near some cool old ruins sometime?? My friends & I have camped inside the 1st floor of this spooky, roofless old tower called Racton Folly & I'd highly reccomend something like that :)

You always apologize for videos like these but they are some of my favorite. I started watching your channel when you were on your 8 week class staying in the old ice fishing tent. Obviously the stealth camps are great, but the stress-free, just enjoying camping type of videos are so relaxing to watch.

What I like about Steve and his content, is its real. Not like the other guys "HEY GUYS, SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON! Here I am camping in my custom fabricated off road trail rig most of you will never have... filled with brand new camping gear, big yeti coolers, camping A/C, etc..." He has what most of us have around already and makes it work, and has fun. Thanks, Steve!

Couple tips on your dutch oven cooking... Rotate the oven 180* every so often. And put coals on top of the lid. When you rotate the oven, rotate the lid 180* too. That way it'll even out the heat as you're baking.

Activity-wise there's always fishing, hunting, trapping. Foraging, wood-gathering, organizing. There's almost always some little thing you could do to improve your comfort. But honestly, just doing absolutely nothing is kinda a big draw to this activity. Sitting, staring, poking a fire, talking about nothing. All depends what you're into.

Steve you should get one of those thermoelectric fans that sit on top of a wood stove. With a minor modification, (grind out a slot in the base) it will slide right into and sit securely on top of the grate of your buddy heater. When that fans kicks on ... it's now blowing hot air. Game changer. Cheers !

I barely enjoy camping but I LOVE your videos :). It's your positivity, in situations most people would consider miserable (camping in the rain, or freezing temperatures), you're all smiles and like "doesn't get much better than this!". You're a glass half full kindof guy, it's inspiring. I'd love to have a step2 with you, thanks for the entertainment!

Well, I have always wanted to snowshoe since my stint in Vermont. As an aside, let me tell you how much I appreciate how structured all of your vids are content wise. I always know what to expect. A good intro, set-up, step two, dinner, kudos, wake up and wrap up. It’s well planned and not just a bunch of off the cuff stuff without direction, so thank you!
