Having lived in Fairbanks from 1995-2001, I was able to view multiple green flashes during this time of year from the University of Alaska. One lasted over 2 minutes at sunrise! Excellent capture of this very interesting phenomena at nearly 65N latitude.

Thanks for watching Jan. I have heard of seeing a green flash with the sun setting or rising over a water horizon, but I have never successfully observed it myself. I have never heard of it being observed over land. Interesting! Fairbanks at the time of the winter solstice was fascinating. We had wonderfully clear nights to observe the aurora and we had this clear day to image the solstice Sun rising and setting. I have seen other videos of this happening, but I wanted to witness it myself and image it myself. I really enjoyed my visit to Fairbanks!.
