I grew up in Eureka mt I've lived in Kalispell the last 18yrs, summer before last, I rode from my house in Kalispell up to my parents house in Eureka and back. Beginning of last summer I was hit by a pickup, injured my shoulder so I was done riding for a year til my shoulder healed. But been riding again this summer just about every day. Shoulder still gets pretty sore but tolerable.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention how slick the mud was at the wall. It would be non-trivial even without the bike. It’s fun reliving this year’s Tour Divide through your videos. Canada and northern Montana were my favorite parts of the ride I think. Seems like such a long time ago already and it hasn’t even been two months since the start! Wild!

Crazy didn't know about that part. Only heard of Fleecer Ridge which is also quite sketchy but is downhill for once.

Ryan that just looks brutal! The cold, the mud, the snow, the hike a bike, truly a test of one's metal. I did one motorcycle ride, to Anchorage AK from nor cal, which was great going north. Coming home was a solo effort, and it rained from Anchorage to Weed CA. Over 6 days of hard sideways rain. Hydroplaning on the hiway next to motorhomes? That was me. Riding thru a mudslide that wouldnt stop with boulders bouncing across the road? That was me. Tipping a fully loaded BMW 1150 over in clay on pavement? Yup. It got to be fun after a while, see just how wet I could get, couldnt camp after a while the wind blew so hard rain came into the tent under the flaps. A very memorable trip.

Watching you climb The Wall right now takes me back! My bike was too heavy to push up. I had to take off my panniers and food bag and carry those up, then go back and get my big Salsa Mukluk and push it up. The trail was wet and muddy then too. I got to the first flat overlook and thought I had made it😅! I was missing my dog and my wife, and generally feeling low. I literally sat down and cried. Then I found I wasn’t even at the top! Haha! I would do it all over again if I could take the time off from work. Starting the Eastern Divide, Section 3 tomorrow. 4-5 consecutive days of rain in the forecast. Why do we do this again ??? I mean after living and working in da woods for years i got tired of dooking in da woods all da time. I mean a day or 2 would be ok to rough it. But i fell on some rocks on my butt from about 20 feet up and injured my self giving me internal hemroids and could not get to a clinic for days. i had to have surgery to remove them and dooking in da woods did not help matters. I got over it but ever since then i don't l;ike having to go#2 in da woods. You see ya'll make all deez videos look so glamorous and fun. Ya'll don't talk about haveing to go #2 in da woods in 20 degree weather. yeah glad you enjoy roughing it i like that. i get plenty of exercise riding my bike and lifting weights. I don't need to challenge my self in those kind of elements. the only way i would do what your doing is getting paid for it, and i suppose you do get paid for it through your youtube channel. best of luck , thanks for sharing.

so let me get this straight, Dude fell off his bike and broke 6 rib,And now he's back out there putting him self in those conditions again. I mean looks like he would have learned his lesson. Man, i have broken ribs before when i got thrown out of a truck onto the hwy doing 60mph. I and all i was wearing was a tank top and i fell on rough gravel asphault road. i got all skint up and was in da hospital for 3 days. ever since then i never ride in the back of trucks. While i am at it, i know rayn you have hiked up longs peak before because i watched your video on it. folks die up there every year doing it. 1 slip up and your gone. I love adventure but i would never do that hike. I mean i could do it phyisaclly, but its to dangerous. I mean after being run over on my bike by a car and thrown out of trucks, i don't take unnessary chances just for a thrill.I hope the guy does not fall off his bike this time.I mean this kind of race is stupid to put yourself in those kind of conditions. And then when folks get into trouble they have to call rescue for help costing thousands of dollars all for just to say you did it. who cares man!! take a look a that 20 year old girl who died on half dome in yosemitie national park last week. fell off the cables and slid down the maountain to her death in front of the daddy!! the girl should not even have been up there. now she;s dead for making a bad decision . look at dat man 2 days ago who fell off the rim at da grand canyon taking a selfie. he was not being careful enough. I use to work at the grand canyon, and i saw a lot of people doing stupid stuff putting there life on the line for the perfect selfie picture. stupid is/ is stipid does!! sorry for the rant rayn !! just get so tired of folks doing dumb stuff. that man that broke his ribs on da trail should not even be attemping that again.
