Winter is about turning inward, connecting to our natural flows and rhythms in preparation...
Winter time is a time of all of nature turning inward, storing up, healing, resting and connecting to our natural inner flow in preparation for Spring with it's new ideas and activity. Now is the time to slow down, soften, and allow. It's a time of preparation and that means healing and rest. In this practice we focus on the element of Water and the Kidney/Bladder meridians as we "find our natural flow" through the breath and connect to our inner still point through long holds and stillness.

I agree! I love it when I am able to hold my poses in silence during yin yoga! I like music, but I can´t concentrate with constant chatter and this is one of the reasons that I love Aprille´s classes.

The weather has turned cold where I am and the desire to simply turn inward and connect to my own inner flow is strong right now. Our practice today focuses the element of water and our own flow. Enjoy! Peace, Aprille

I want to thank you, Aprille, from the bottom of my heart for everything you are sharing with us, all over the world. I've done this meditation/yoga almost every day for the last couple of weeks and it has helped me so much. Here in Nepal the weather is pretty much the same every day during the winter, cold nights and sunny days. I treat my self with this exercise late in the morning, out on the balcony, to let the sun warm up my body and mind.

Winged scapula can have a lot of different causes and I would suggest reaching out to a yoga therapist near you for specific poses and movements that would help you work with your specific situation. Aprille, the Dragon really hurts my sacrum... is there a modification I can do?

There are a lot of variations for Dragon and propping options. I have a tutorial kzbin.info/www/bejne/moC1komEdtt8hMk that might help. It might be you are going a bit too deep into the pose and you might try using some more propping or backing out a bit. You can also bring the back knee in closer to take some of the depth out. @@YogaRangerStudio Thank you for your help, Aprille...I tried bending my knee under my torso, almost like ‘the pigeon’ which allowed my sacrum some support before I moved my other leg out to the side. I injured the sacrum a few years ago and it needs tic. Thank you!
