@@northrnstar That's true, but even as avid lsrfm non enjoyer for example, it seems to be getting out of hand, people use the criticism as a gateway to hating to the point it's just silly, the criticism gets mixed in with the hate and it forms this hybrid monster, I don't really think we have to say anything more about a situation after it's been already addressed, especially if the idol cannot even address the source of the criticism, Sakura won't become Whitney Houston, singing was never her forte, but everyone will feel bad if she decides to end her life or something, to idols, they should separate the hate from criticism, and work on what they can, some idols do, others become victims.

Counter point: people usually dont stan groups for the members, they like their music. Somebody could be micheal jackson and whitney houston morphed into one person but if they arent able to provide good music then their performances are completely useless if the songs they perform is not good in your eyes. For me, the number one thing that comes first is discography, i am not going to force myself to listen to something that i think is bad just because the members can dance or belt the loudest. I think the majority of kpop fans agree with me for the most part.

Final note, let's stop pretending that we know exactly how these groups' career trajectories are gonna go. The I-trinity of idle, itzy and izone was strong in the early 4th gen, and people were having Everglow as a frontrunner as well, but only one of those groups is currently seen as a top group of the generation just four years later. The situation might be completely different in just a year or two.

I have one point to make about Billlie which I think counters the whole "fell off" thing and I'm just going to pray to the grammar gods that this comment makes some sort of sense. Moonbin's passing absolutely made Billlie slam on the brakes when it came to the momentum they had generated (I am NOT criticizing this whatsoever, mourning doesn't come with a timeline).
