Great battle report, Warboss Winters! It's nice to see an Agents army on the field and played well. I know others have already lambasted Sultan for firing both profiles on the Infernus HBolter. An honest mistake from previous iterations, I'm sure. I'm more miffed at him for using a Command Re-roll to try to save his Inquisitor rather than the call back to 1st edition "Displacer Field" strat giving her a 4++ save and a d6 redeploy. C'mon Sultan, geedubs gone give us a Rogue Trader-era throwback reference and you're not gonna use it?! 😁 Great piloting of the army otherwise though, mate! 👍

There should have been a part 2 of this battle where after driving off the orks they grey knights just turned and wiped out all the other imperials.

Played my first game with a full agents army and really enjoyed playing them. They are an army that can get alot of VP but will almost certainlybe annihilated in the process. My army was not dissimilar to Sultan's with fighty DW (4 TH per squad) and two squads of Grey Knights plus a bunch of squishy humans and no sisters.

1:05:35 Winters needs to lay off snorting Ork Spores. Ork vehicles really should Deadly Demise on 5+. I like Sultan's point about Nurgle not liking Virus Bombs; he's all about the Bacteriological Weapons.

Anyone got any advise for what I should run the aribites as? I think my current squad that is almost complete are set up with the med kit and all ranged one, but I couldnt decide which was best out of them as non of them stuck to me out as "the good all round one". Also sultan seems to just get armies I also love/collect, and its great been able to get little ideas from them as they all ooze style and character.

Exaction squad is a good all-rounder since you can have a Med-kit to restore models, and a Soul-guilt scanner to give the unit Ignores Cover. They also can have one Arbites with an Excrutiator Maul for a D2 melee attack. The unit gets Lethal Hits & Precision as their always in effect unit rule, so you have the chance to snipe out low wound characters. There's practically no reason to ever field a Vigilant Squad since the Exaction squad has better options and unit rules for a similar price. Arguably the Subductor squad with Riot shields & Shock mauls is the best Arbites unit though. Having a 4++ invul save all the time, s4 ap1 melee attacks, and 4+ fight-on-death make them a decent low-cost melee unit.

I just get the feeling that GW threw the agents codex out as a second thought combining lots of different armies in an attempt to farm sales from as many different players as possible, because if you have 5 or 6 different existing armies all pushed into one, then people who play those will have to buy it. It's predatory, scummy and clearly wasn't play tested in house before release. Hats off to Winters for not cheesing his army knowing that agents have no anti tank and doing what most of the Ork players I've seen dropping a ton of meks, because well you know they it'll tie up the opponent trying to stop them.

He still had a significant amount of armour for not tailoring his army: a battlewagon, two buggies, 3 Deff dreads, and two trucks. Nothing to sneeze at.

Knowing a bit about GW production from working for them, the real reason for agents falling in the release schedule when it did was because of majority of manufacturing/packaging focus was on the new AoS edition and stock build-up/repacking of Kill Team. They needed a 40K release as a placeholder, but with little tie-in model support. Agents let them release ONE model (Coteaz) and throw together a few army deals & a battleforce to satisfy the release, while being able to concentrate on meeting production demands on Sigmar. It was either the agents codex or no 40K release until Blood Angels.
