Starcraft2 post patch, is the most entertaining to watch ever, Max Pax is probably one if not the best Protoss player in the world right now, those games (not all of them) were very close. I enjoy the experiments finding the new meta, so many cool new strategies are evolving right now. Protoss got a new energy ability and for the first time in Sc2 history the mothership has become a decent and actually quite versitile cool unit, so many tactical possibilities, great changes!

Wasn't the goal of this patch to give Zerg more ground-based anti-air options and dissuade them from building mass queens for defense? Game 2 LOL. Mass Queens, and once again the only way through an air army is corrupters.

Doesn’t help they made hydras slower on creep than archons. And the new ability is a separate hive+ research too for only 1 out of 10 seconds apm sink. Seen multiple players start out testing the new hydra only to start realizing this patch didn’t actually make them better. Even the ones still using them have started ignoring the ability research entirely because it barely changes the outcome when their apm is focused on other things and more important casters.

@@AlexanderVoroncov Not sure why you call them fast when Zerg has no 7-9+ range aerial sniper to square off against key units in death balls properly, like both the other races do. If you watch Raynor sacrifice 49 hydra’s just to take out mothership, the ability ended up a trap, luring Raynor to get all his hydra’s killed because there was no way to pull them back in time. They are too slow at their current range and a 1 second every 10 is not enough. Corruptors are good air-to-air but since their range is subpar, your forced to engage within the killzone of hundreds of dps, in an all-in-or-not-at-all situation too, but maybe not nearly as bad as hydras. If broodlords got bug fixed, the fallout from the forced transition actually wouldn’t be so bad and I wouldn’t mind them so much how they are. But since air zerg is actually quite boring(almost worse than carriers), I’d rather hope this issue is addressed from the ground.

@@MarsStarcruiser maybe broods need some love, they too rare to see in games. I dont like when they buff single unit making it too strong. In my opinion microbial shroud is too strong in right hands already, they made it too op because players didnt want to use it. You may have +3 attack carriers and they lose to 0 0 hydra when carrier supposed to counter hydra, that weird. Maybe better if it add anti air armour to some units, not reduce dmg by half.. Or This shroud also should reduce 20% dps, interceptors die too fast and cost a lot. But on another look storm is good against hydra or just forcefield+ stalkers

The mass zergling counter attacks distracting maxpax cost him so much potential gains. missing killing the +1 armor denial and pool with the carriers could have helped so much with keeping the momentum for maxpax.

I love that we are seeing more mothership play and that it's not so easily countered, but right now I'm not sure what the zerg is supposed to do before corruptors. I think the abduct nerf was way too drastic. I have been proposing they revert the change, but limit the effectiveness on abduct to be 30% of the distance yanked on massive units. That means chain yanking three times would just about properly abduct a mothership, which requires more skillful play. If this were the case, there would also be more counter play for high templar to try to feedback the vipers. That of course means moving the HT to a vulnerable position, making it possible to snipe them with ground units. I feel like that change alone would make some damn interesting play.

Proposal that we rip the band-aid off, and just call the new Hydra ability "Ghetto Blink". That's how it would be used, if anyone could ever properly use it, but a Tier 3 upgrade that is strictly worse than the Tier 1.5-2 ability of the Stalkers is just not it.

Make it instead that it buries the hydra for 0.74 seconds and makes them invulnerable while being burrowed that way. Makes them stronger against storm (and now Microbial shroud is no longer useless making Zerg better against air), and allows for a better in theme outplay potential.

with the new patch we should bring massive unit size to the original model size. ie mothership and ultra. the ms was smaller because the cost was lower, we reverted that change so get the MS back to actually large city size. Same thing with ultras, ultras needed to be more nimble now they push the units under them so no need to be baby ultras. Please tell me I'm wrong

I still think the answer is muta when protoss go tempest mothership i see zerg going corrupter but then when they win hard the corrupter can't do anything useful and so often they don't have greater spire ready to follow it up since broodlords are not great late game since they are so slow and easily countered by protoss but muta can attack mineral lines and the tempest mother ship army and since they regen life so much better then corruptor they can soak damage and pull out recover then bounce back in and for protoss to counter they got to build pheonix which then puts the useless air units in the protoss court since late game protoss does not want phoenix over tempest or carrier
