Thanks for the view on the castle at night 👍 I've to say that it isn't that dark. When you first said it's a dark place, I expected a more vampiric theme or something like that - although the castle does have this part in its belly and it is really well lit. That blood pool that seems to illuminate the pillars and ceiling in dark reddish light. This is cool. As well as this, I don't how to name it, gigantic dome behind the entrance to the crypt. Or the library. I love the shelves used to display stuff and how the mod author put actual windows in front of them. But I honestly heard someone calling a library "groovy". Your are right: The idea of individualizing the quarters is a nifty feature (there, I said it) and very unique. The only thing that is a bit of a bummer is your own quarters. As much as I like those crystals in the alcove behind the bed, the room itself lacks a bit of pomp. For a castle of this size, I'd expected a bit... More. Not necessarily in terms of size but of decoration etc.

I've never been into the big castles either. Frankly my favorite house in all of Skyrim is Leaf Rest and for bigger houses, Peregrine Highwatch.

You're the best, Feb! Thanks for covering this place! It's fun to see what you think of some of my favorite houses, but really hard to find ones you haven't already done, hehe. You've made me appreciate it even more =). I really like that even though it's dark, he seems to know where to place glowy decorations and pools -- he's always got to have pools (no complaints here) -- in just the right spots and quantities to make it not so gloomy. I keep the NPCs around for not only shopping, but to keep the place lively, although I feel like locking myself in my room to get away from them sometimes too =P. Sorry about advertising projectiles =/. That was Shadowstar Castle, which is similar, also by him. D'oh! The little garden is my favorite area too =). Your 'Free the Vampire Cattle' mod idea is cute... if you don't always play as a vampire, that is =P.

Lol @ "Free the Vampire Cattle" - you're so funny:) And I'm glad you said that about the projectiles because I was like, "whuuut?" when I didn't find anything, but then I forgot about it whilst I was making the actual video (honest-to-God perio- menopausal right now!). I see I still have work to do for both Skyrimlazz and Cynndal.

@@FebrithDarkstar Hehe, not far behind you, but in the meantime, I blame fibrofog =P. May the Nine be with you, should you ever decide to do Ayleid Citadel. IF (extra emphasis on IF) you try it out, wait until the daytime to explore -- trust me, lol. It's a city. I'd love to see more of Cynndal's stuff... or whatever you find. I would have never, ever found my favorite house/s without you!

If I have to go big I go here. Everyone's favorite bathhouse has similar amenities & pretty girls but it's also somewhat cluttered. This sprawls but not oppressively. Areas I might use: library, smithy, kitchen, pool have their own wings I needn't visit as is true for the crypt & display room I never visit (really, let me drop everything in a small black jewel box, I'm happy that way). Truly, Febrith, my first thought entering was "Were I English, I would say this isn't horrid." Have you considered reviewing Constructible Shacks? It was recently ported to SE. I know it's not your usual but I like to keep it simple, Sexy, so I usually backpack or sleep in inns. CS might provide a fun change. I recall it did in LE.

I will say this about Winterstone. It likely has one of the Best Courtyards. Will make a nice playerhome or if you are using a follower mod like my home is your home a home base of operations. Its no Shadowstar Castle or Dragonfall castle.( or Sjel blad)

I would use this castle but it would interfere with bluecreek estate. I love my gold mine.
