Yes going fast in a straight line is sort of fun and I do get sick of mustangs, bmws, audis, etc passing me down the straight, but the real fun is in a lower and lighter car going thru the bendy bits.

I think regardless of the car, almost everything is fun when driven fast at a track, whether its a standard hatch back, a big slow sedan, a van, or an MX-5... its fun.

What's up? You can do 29s round there! Seriously though that's a proper quick car with a proper quick driver. You just need to work out 5th and 3rd gears.

I need a new 3rd gear, or a near gearbox maybe.

@@Bbeavis F1 excuses! Serious question about gears: 1st to 5th, Fuji 4.1 and 195/50s are perfect for on-track with relatively low power (normally aspirated now). I don't use 6th even at Silverstone. So is it possible to fit a higher ratio 6th speed gear for journey to and from the track?

@@demon1954 That is a complex and costly solution to saving some fuel on the highway, you'd need to find somwhere to make you custom gears, then the labour costs to remove the transmission rebuild it with the new gears and then re-assemble. Perhaps consider larger diameter wheels and tyres for the road and then swap wheels when at the track?

@@Bbeavis Thank you. I’m stupid and you’re clever. It might seem barmy, but I’d stay with the smaller ones on track as they provide more fun and less stress on the car, at lower speeds.

The Aston was a rocket down the straights, I think on that lap he was just doing a warmup.
